Do the breather hoses yourself (M5board will tell you how), did mine last week, cost £16 for the two pipes and about 10 minutes with a screw driver.

Looks simple enough, I'll get the parts ordered at lunch and hopefully be able to get them tomorrow to do at the weekend!

What is slightly more pressing is that the front pads are getting low and will be through to the sensor shortly, so it's back to them on Tuesday to get new pads fitted.

Should I stay with OEM or give something else a try? Nearly ordered some EBC redstuff but read hit and miss reports about poor cold performance (I need my car to work equally as well on my commute as on the 'ring), and about them being noisy.
Nice example that wink

Re: the brakes:-

After 7 years of ownership I dumped the stock brake set-up (single pot sliding caliper!) in favour of a pair of Stoptech's, four pots with grooved discs;

Wish I'd done it years before! Has really transformed the car and you've got the confidence to chuck into corners (not that you'd do that anyway rolleyes)

I'd also open up the brake airvents on the front valance this will help the cooling of the brakes http://www.bmwm5.com/greg/brake_ducts/ no idea why BMW had these blocked????

Enjoy the trip to the ring thumbup

Just going with OEM pads now to get it done quick. Won't cost much for just the front, I can then re-evaluate when I get back.

It's my first outing with this car so it'll be a gentle trip.

Breather hoses ordered from dealer, about £10 each, and will change these at the weekend smile

Hmmmm didnt know about the hole.
Just popped mine straight in, did oyur EML light come on?
No the light stayed off.

A small bit of clear silicone will block off the hole, more in depth on m5 board.
Also found this which way news to me...this is probably my problem.

They opened up the GP circuit today for public use, something they don't do that often, so I feel quite lucky to have driven it smile

car looks great in that colour, I haven't seen many like that, good choice.
I have the Le Mans Blue 2000 version. I bought in October but have hardly used yet die to the bad winter and I love it so much I just can't get it drity and wet!
Do you use your car as a daliy drive?
Mine has EBC green pads in, they aren't that expensive but work really well, so long as you canlive with them squealing all the time especially when you pull up. Mine has the airvents opened up as well

Yes, using it as a daily driver - doing a 100 mile round trip commute per day, 4 or 5 days a week.

Fuel costs are actually not much higher than my previous E39 530i Auto.

Seems silly saving for the weekend and running another car during the week - to me the reason behind cars like the M5 is they make the perfect all-rounder.
