Here is where part of your problem may lie....in addition to the steering / suspension / brake setup. I still think you need to get the caliper pistons sorted, and the suspension mounting points correctly calibrated.

However have a look here.

Der - gutted to hear the dreaded vibration is still there. That would drive me nuts so I can sympathise. My only thought would be that if you are at the stage of considering cutting your losses then it probably will end up being what you do.

Much as your current beast is dearly beloved I suspect the 'relationship' has already passed the point of no return. Get yourself onto Autotrader and find a new love ...

I disagree. With all the work you have done, it is a keeper. How gutted would you be if you sold it to be told that a visit to a mechanic with a fresh set of eyes fixed it in a jiffy with a new washer somewhere you had never heard of?
Stay away from the main dealers. They do not have the expertise IMHO.
It wouldn't do any harm to call the people recommended above.
Hope you fix it soon!

Late to this, but the Phoenix Motorsport option sounds good - sounds like a balancing issue somewhere in the dirve-to-wheels train. Not sure from the rant (and I do so sympathise, our M5 did a bit of this, but it was build-up on the discs which can be sorted by some practice braking, as I'm sure you've tried already) whether this behaviour is only under braking or not - if not, it reminds me (don't laugh too loud) of a problem I had with my Triumph Spitfire many moons ago - a horrible vibration which came in around 60, and eventually after much hair-tearing and strange language turned out to be an everso slightly bent propshaft . Just an illustration of how the whole drive thing needs to be considered.

Good luck with it - our M5 is now gone, and just thinking about the Pink Pig brings on misty-eyed smiles smile
