Sold the M3, now looking for another...??!!
Discussion
As I found out that the 3.0 is group 19 rather than 20 and, combined with NCB, is going to cost me a LOT less to insure.
So, after selling a corker of an EVO, I now find myself back in the market for a 3.0 M3!!! Feel like I am going in circles a bit :P
So, I went and looked at this today:
http://pistonheads.com/sales/418174.htm
Ad looks great. Have to say I was v disappointed. Off the top of my head:
Owned by a student for 3 months
Not a stone chip anywhere (which made me suspicious on a 95 car)
4 'new' tyres (which were 4 new second hand, mismatched, barely legal tyres)
All 5 wheels kerbed
FSH (sorry, left it at home, last service done at a local garage...)
Roof was a bit shagged (needs a good push to get it going)
Rear brakes shagged (discs glazed, lots of grooves, migh get away with a skim but doubtful, rear pads about 2mm left)
Front undertray dragging along the road, drivers side brake ducts similar
Power steering fluid low and grinding noise from steering
Power steer fluid leak, oil leaks, all alloy in the engine bay corroded (made me suspect recon engine, intake runners also bare corroded alloy rather than usual black)
Seats decent condition
Air con not working
Gear knob ripped
Steering wheel very worn
Huge scuttle shake at all speeds.
As I said all in all v disappointing and (IMHO) bought by someone who couldn't afford to maintain it.
The search continues...

Despite the nauseating crassness of the ad, that does look OK. ASBO said:

Cactussed, when i'm back mate, if you see one fairly locally then we'll both go and have a look at it matey. The pictures in your add above make it look really nice but obviously turned out to be a complete shead. Makes me start to wonder how many clean & honest examples like mine are still out there that haven't fallen into the wrong hands so-to-speak.
