e46 m3 touring sport
Discussion
I bought this from V8m3 some time ago and it was indeed a great car - it was my daily and I (as far as I'm concerned) improved bits of it while I had it. I sold it to a pal who ran it as his daily for a couple of years too then unfortunately I think it has changed hands 2/3 times and its really not enjoyed itself since.
it is sad to see previously owned great cars end up in this shape.

this car was awsome and my pride and joy but they have wrecked it was looking to buy it back but in my opinion needs full rebuild leather has gone bbs lms have gone rear valance has been butchered to fit tow bar and i may be wrong but looks like a standard sport front bumper now paintwork looks dull what a crying shame
I don't really see why you think it needs a rebuild, touch melodramatic maybe?! He still has the original interior, it now has genuine M3 18" wheels on instead of nasty bbs lms, the m3 bumper is still there, and as for moaning about cutting the rear valance, those things are as less than £100 to replace?MOTK said:

There's not a chance he'll get anywhere near £9500 for it.
What a waste.
It has 306 Rallye mats so it's obviously fallen a long way from a careful owner.
I always laugh when I see Harnesses on a car with no roll cage. About as sure as a lethal combination you can get
(Harnesses mean driver sits bolt upright when roof caves in in a roll. Even with a normal 3 point the driver can duck a bit )
Was an American job, which was a shed load of work, but has more presence. Mainly due to the arches being flared front and rear.
I'm still staggered that in an age of C63s Estate and RS4 Avant that BMW are not doing M3 or M5 Tourings. They do convertibles so it's not like they are shy.

He's still got the original trim complete which will be included in the sale. An afternoon's work to fit it back in.I think somewhere along the line someone toned it down to more Q - car ish which kind of fits with the standard arches, etc. It had MV1s, tow bar and sport bumper was on it when he bought it. He did fit the four front genuine M3 wheels to it.
The paintwork is actually alright - I'm guessing his camera isn't all that and / or it needs a decent polish.
Mechanically it's all A1 - and it goes like stink.

I don't think the car is ruined at all, I'd probably fit a detachable tow bar for carrying bikes while still allowing me to have a good sized roof box, which is what I did with my B5 RS4. I'm very tempted to buy it, but I think it is a bit overpriced for me personally, given that it isn't actually an M3. I have an E46 330i Touring and would very much like to put an S54 in it, so this would save me a lot of work....
IIRC it is a detachable tow bar. I'm sure he'll listen to offers on the car. Always worth an ask.Gassing Station | M Power | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
