The beauty of having just two pipes sticking out the back! wink Although as it's an Eisenmann Sport that's connected up to the S38 it's not exactly what you'd call "whisper quiet" biggrin

I reckon that's the first time "V8" and " frown " have ever been written together btw! wink

How easy is it to remove badges ? My new car has little M badges on the front wings (it's an AUC F31 328i Touring M Sport), and having come from a real M3 the badges are embarrassing!

Heat the badge with a hairdryer and use some fishing line or dental floss to slide down behind the badge. Then remove the sticky residue with some tar remover or polish...job done.

The badges are standard fit on the F31 M Sport and say 'M' not 'M3'. Odd thing to get embarrased about hehe

Are you going to put some electrical tape over the one on the steering wheel hehe

I have seen an E39 today with printed out M5 on the white background, about double size of original badge...probably so that everyone could see...

I think it's a little daft, to be honest, putting an M badge anywhere near a non M car just because it's got a body kit and lowered suspension. I don't mind the odd part being branded M, as they can be a performance accessory (wheels etc). Hence my steering wheel doesn't bother me in the slightest. The flanks are now M free, so the only badge is the 328i on the tailgate. I always prefer my cars fully debadged if bought new, but can live with the engine variant on the back as long as it's honest.
I feel a little embarassed because I grew up in a time when my mates would stick a GTE or 2.0 badge on a 1.3 Astra. Always thought it looked ridiculous then, and it's stayed with me ever since.

However, you're not doing that.

Your badges simply say 'M'

And your car is an 'M Sport' so you're not trying to be something you're not confused

To dig up an old topic. Someone on eBay must be making a small fortune selling cheap Chinese M badges. With the release of the M135i ive now noticed that BMW at the same time must have secretly released M116d, M320d and a M635i also.

I have slightly mixed feelings about all the M badges our M135i will have having been such a militant anti M badge (on non M cars) hater!

I saw a 316i Compact the other day with an M badge on the back....except he's put it upside down so it read "W". I'd like to think he was taking the piss but I reckon he was just a plonker!

Just driven up the Bournemouth Spur Rd (A338) and passed a black E61 5 series. Fantastic combination of badges on the boot.

M5.535d.DMS

The M5 badge was clearly a front wing badge off ebay and I'd assume the 535d bit is as standadrd. The DMS sticker i'd imagine came off ebay too.

Top badging. Donkey!

I have one on the back, one on each "wing," one on each front door sill, one on the steering wheel. Six badges of pure pretender shame.

I saw a genuine black M3 the other day (can't remember if it was an E46 or an E9x though) but the owner had decided to buy one of those cheapo ///M badges from eBay, where the /// is the colours of the German flag and the M was in black, and then glued it to his bonnet, at the edge near the n/s/f corner.

Just made the car look REALLY tacky.
