Well boys and girls I thought CSL prices were on the up. So it seems from all the ads, but today a Porsche dealer hit me a big slapper with a part ex price of £21000 for an Oct 2003 SG True lightweight with new wheels 27000 miles fell over laughing.

Full time - the same with a TVR some time ago £10,000 out of range. I dont think he would win the biggie on the price is right! Anything with less than 30k miles seems above £32000.

Hi there

From checking around places to do it seems prices have gone up further.

On the Autotrader if I've done the searching wise now cars with sub 30,000 miles are in the £34,000 - £36,000 price bracket. Only cars around £30,000 have got 50,000-60,000 miles on the clock.

There also does not seem to be many for sale either, looks like prices continue to increase, good for us owners but not so great for potential new owners.

Maybe this is a reflection of early press disapointment with the new M3.

Well I'm still keeping mine - owned from new and still only 13000 miles. After driving the new E92 M3 I would still be inclined to keep my CSL 'and' get a new M3, rather than replace my CSL. Now when the next CSL arrives in '08 then maybe I'll feel differently. Nice to see I'm not losing any more money bearing in mind that some of us (i.e. suckers) paid £60k for ours back in 2003... wink

Same here. Can't be many of us original owners left (i'm Aug 2003) although mines at nearly 35,000 miles.

The car is nearly 4 years old, and I would venture it is worth at least £35k i.e 58% residual value. That's not bad at all. Does a 4 year old 911 retain a higher value?

IMHO, BMW pitched the price about 10K too high.

It's still good for new owners as cars bought will hopefully hold their value

Has anyone ever had a Porsche dealer not trying to roger them on p/x? Just out of interest, what would BMW themselves offer you direct for the car?

I see there are a few for sale at the moment in Autocar and on here and what suprised me was that they have finaly dipped under 30k (with 40 to 50k on the clock) CSL's seemed to have been over 30k for ever. There are a couple at 37k which seems too much...I would not have thought you have to pay that sort of money for a good one now......33k-34k sounds about right for a top CSL...There is one at a dealer in Bodmin for £29995 which I'm thinking of going to view...anyone on here this car?

What does "1 driver since virtually new" mean?

2 drivers? Or was it one of those "CSLs-that-should-be-avoided-because-of-their-life-before-going-on-the-market" cars?

Typical. Bought mine for £48k at 1200mls, sold it with 20k on it for £33k, that was 2 years ago, they are now trading the same.. I decided to get off the depreciation landslide (at the time) and then they just stopped going south...? Explains why I should never invest in shares.. biggrin
