Morning all.
My Red Mk1 is 'still' under restoration - can't wait to get back behind the wheel.

Whilst all stripped out, now would be the ideal time to replace / refresh the carpets. The footwell carpets (especially drivers side) are pretty tired, thin and worn.

I can stick with Black - or pivot to Tan or 'Biscuit'.
Whilst I've Googled, I can't find any examples of a Red car (or any colour for that matter) of a black interior with Biscuit carpets. i.e. black seats, plastic, door trim.

It is not unfeasible that the seats and door cards could be later changed to suit or re-trimmed, but I need to decide on carpet colours sooner.

Any images / owners out there with some pictures to share?

FWIW found some - but upgraded dash to M2, and the lower half also lifted by biscuit too:

Yeah, that mix doesn't really work for me. I'd go one or the other.

I had black seats etc with tan carpets, crucially i changed the steering wheel for a black one which made the biggest difference. I think it looked good, will try to dig out some pics.

(Terrible) pics half way down this thread

Thanks. it seems the options works well if you can (like you show) have a Tan bottom half of the dash too.

If you ever sell it , don't advertise your car in Ireland as 'Black and Tan'.

This is a keeper car.
Had for 25yrs and undergoing a full restoration (went in for new dampers and springs!) with a PH’er that is doing an amazing warts and all sort out.
Hoping to have it back soon to enjoy the summer.

I think that looks good. Lifts the interior nicely.
