Hi,

I'm looking for a set of sprigs and dampers for a mkl eunos. They're primarily for road use, so musn't be too low or too stiff. Current options are,

1. KYB AGXs + Flying Miata springs

2. KYB AGXs + standard springs

3. Absolutely shocks re-valved Gaz dampers and springs kit

4. Tein Super Street springs and dampers

The AGXs seem to be universally accepted as atleast 'quite good' and reliable if not the choice. Haven't heard that much about the Absolutely Shocks Gaz kit from other people, but MX5parts swear by them. Likewise, I've spoken to a couple of people who say the Tein's are 'the only serious choice'.

So I'm confused......

I'm tempted to go for the KYB's because they seem to be very widely supported and although a lot of people say they're not the best on the market most seem to agree they are fairly reasonable. Apart from a few people who recommended the KYBs over everything else, most people then went on to suggest another brand the dampers to have, but no two suppliers seemed to agree on which one.

Have a look at the MX-5 owners club forums - loads and loads of info on there.

I've been looking at new suspension for my s-special, and I'm leaning towards the Gaz set-up (needs to be the absolutely shocks ones though). You can get them cheaper than MX-5 parts elsewhere

We went with the Absolutely Shocks setup all round, very pleased with them though I still need to get round to having them setup properly (currently only done by a lot of experimentation on a local business park )

Also we fitted them ourselves and due to not having a clue what we were doing, broke a shock mount and damaged one of the dampers - spoke to the gazman, and he sorted it out very quickly, getting the damaged shock off the car, rebuilt and back on for us for next to nothing.

I would recommend the setup to anyone.

Anybody thats put the Ab Shocks kit on that wants help with setting up.
I'm going to have a clinic at the factory in Basildon soon and I'll have the Supertracker kit with me, so anybody interested in getting the full potential from the kit can get a set-up to suit their needs for the princely sum of NOTHING, ZILCH, DONATA.

PM Me and we will set up a Saturday session

Right, gone for KYB AGXs with Flying Miata springs and some new bump stops.

That should regain some of the zoom zoom!
