As far as I know the rake of the windscreen is identical. In fact the only major changes are on the external bodywork, the chassis underneath is pretty much the same. The Mk1 hard-top can fit on a Mk2/2.5 with only minor adjustments so the cockpit shape is identical.
Thanks for the info.Looking at your mx5 picture I noticed Oz alloys, are those 17 in. wheels?, do you have a set of pictures I could use for my rough sketches? thanks in advance
By the way, nice car..........
Cheers

I think the bodywork above the rear wheels looked fine in your original sketch but with the more realistically sized wheels in the later sketches, the bodywork above the rear wheels looks a bit too tall. What I mean is that while the wheels have shrunk, the bodywork above them hasn't. I'd say your Retro 3 sketch looks better than the Retro 2 one because there's marginally less height above the rear wheels but maybe still a little too much. Other than that, it looks like it's coming along well.
If they'd be any use to you, you might want to look for photos of the prototype Mk1 coupe that Mazda developed, or the Mk2 coupe that they put into limited production. They might be of some use in determining overhangs, angles etc.

I can see you're point, looking at the sketches now, and I agree with your point, I was trying to experiment a little, but I overcooked it a little..., If they'd be any use to you, you might want to look for photos of the prototype Mk1 coupe that Mazda developed, or the Mk2 coupe that they put into limited production. Will resketch a smaller hump over the rear wheels....,
Well it seems like it's going to be retro........but with a longer rear and more modern front end, this will be the last sketch, but would like to thank you guys, for the great feedback and comments on the technical, and design ideas.
Thank you......

Dugtand i have to say your skills with the crayons
thanks, and you can learn those skills, it's not that difficult......, in reference to the design, who knows maybe someone could build something similar, will have to wait and see what happens...

Thanks for the picture of the red mk3 and the clip of the concept.
Stunning looking car and one that i have been hoping, nay praying would be made for a long time.
Previous discussion with Fuoriserie on another thread and his excellent concept sketches really mark this out as being a good market for a modern equivalent to a BGT.
Anybody have any further news or pics as to whether Mazda are going to put this into production as they would get my money for sure if it were ever produced.
