My sister's MK1 Eunos doesn't appear to have a rear foglamp, or a switch for it.

Are we blind, or does it not have one - and are they required for the MOT?

It should have one but it will be an addition.
Ours is on the rear bumper near the exhaust, the switch is in next to the front foglight switch but these were fitted by the importing garage.

I think they are required to get an SVA certificate which is needed to get it registered.
On some imports they modify one of the reversing lights as a fog light.

Or you can use the 3rd brake light in the boot lid

Hi, I am parrot of doom's sister. I think the fog lamp is built in the rear right light. But I have a red switch right under the steering wheel. will try it later.

This car so far I have had these problems. replaced front shockers, brakes and disc pads, one wheel bearing making a noise. stereo cage bloody bent everywhere, got to get that refitted. Accident that happened in 1999 has surfaced as a cosmetic repair on the wing and should have been welded. Should not have passed its mot last year - reported mot station. Tappets noisy when cold. Screws missing everywhere. drivers door card loose and rattly because in the card massive hole and screw will not attach to it.
Needs new roof. Jack and tool kit missing from boot. cables not in their clips in boot and same all over the car, even in engine things loose. air con unit removed from engine by some tosser.
drivers headlight rubs on edge of bonnet when closed. Tried getting screws off to alter it - too rusty to remove.
Love the car but getting a little fed up.

The list seems to get longer by the week! Sorry to hear you've found even more problems.

On the upside, it sounds like you've dealt with the brakes and suspension already. Don't worry overly about the tappets, they're often noisy while the engine's warming up.

As for the missing screws, try this page on mx5parts.co.uk or a mazda scrapyard if there's one near you. From your profile it looks like you're based in the north west - there's a Mazda scrapyard in Rochdale that usually has a couple of MX5s in.

If the door card won't stay put with screws, try adhesive velcro - bit of a bodge but it's surprisingly useful stuff.

From a functional point of view, it's a shame the air con's missing but I suppose it's one less thing that can go wrong, and it'll save some weight too!

Getting the headlight screws drilled out shouldn't take long or cost much, just use a small diameter drill bit to avoid damaging the thread on the screw hole. Replacement headlight cover screws can be had from mx5parts.com

You do not say what part of the air con is missing.
It is probably the comp as they are prone to failing, and very expencive.
If you are interested, I have one you could have. See my add in the clasifieds, or e mail me through my profile.
