...on wheels like this.

Each to their own etc, but what on earth were they thinking?!

Agreed about the wheels.

But even worse .... how can someone expect to sell a car with no description. It's got a stereo with an ipod connection - yipee - but what about mileage, owners, history, spec, how long owned, why selling, etc, etc.

That's what really irritates me!

J,

Yeah - got your email - and I'll get around to sorting it shortly, I promise.

As for the MG - if it was a 'B' then I'd buy it right now, but I have to confess I'm not a fan of the midgets. Dunno why - they just never clicked with me - but the Bs - for sure!

Thanks Mark, I was just concerned it would go out to the wrong address which would cause a bit of a problem!

I looked at a couple of Midgets before I got my '5, but the gearchange and rust meant the '5 was the victor. Im still going to buy one, almost exactly like the above, for the old mans birthday soonish when everything has come together,as he certainly gets all misty eyed about them.

Ever since his driven my car I think he wants to relive his youth....

Pre Mk 3 on steelies I can kind of get my head around but a Mk 3 on poverty rims is just criminal in this day and age:

It says it's a 1.8S so it would have come with alloy wheels. Those steelies look way too clean (they age very quickly) so I reckon the owner sold the alloys separately gambling that it wouldn't affect the sale price of the car.

Not as bad as expected.

IIRC Steel wheels were a must have racing accesory in the 50s and 60s when wire wheels were in the norm, but had to be built very heavily to take the torque (take a look at the C and D type jags for example)

Guess this is an older owner trying to go for that look?

Had feared they were gonna be 21" spinners or soemthing biggrin

Personally, I think the normal BBS jobies suit it pretty well. Those or minilites perhaps.

I've got a set of those sat in the garage with knackered old tyres on for autotesting smile

I think they originally came from a 2004 car. The most very poverty spec models came with them. I guess if you didn't like whatever wheels Mazda were offering at the time you could spec a set of steel wheels and then buy whatever you fancied aftermarket too..

If you really want them Mazda dealers often give them away as cars are often shipped with them on and changed for alloys when they arrive at the dealer.

Hmmm, fair point on the steelies, however I did see a BRG MX5 with a yellow bonnet stripe and it kinda looked retro cool...very 60s!

Big fan of alloys though, I have just redone the missus' wheels, the car looks so much better for shiny rather than scabby alloys!

Nothing beats the 10th Anniversary Chromed Alloys! I get tons of stick for mine from friends but wheels you can see your face in are the way forwards, especially in this lovely sunshine! Ahem.
