I do find the MX5 great as a everyday car although I tend to use the Tuscan for longer runs as the MPG isn't that far off and it feels better cruising the motorway than the little 1.6, also no creature comforts in my Mk1 MX5 makes the Tuscan with its aircon, DAB stereo and 12 disc changer etc a much nicer place to be for longer runs.

The MX5 gets much better MPG round town and is still a hoot to drive if I'm out on a country lane in it.

Cheers, its a 2002 mk1 'S', had a rebuild about 20k ago which was a taken care by the factory, the previous owner wasn't charged though. Have to struggle to use the mx5 still but am piling up the miles on the tuscan too quickly, done 7k since july.
