I fell in love with my MX5 from the moment I first drove it and the day my boyfriend had it sprayed pink for me was one i'll never forget.

But after 4 years of love and fun together my little baby has to go to a new home! My new job means lots of travelling and I have to get a diesel.

Does anyone know of a loving home it could go to??

Ive posted it in the classifieds section but I am worried it'll fall into the wrong hands and not be cared for!

If you've sprayed it pink I'd say you've limited your market a little!

£3250! That's getting on for R/RS-Limited money. It's also up on the miles. No offence, but good luck with that!

yes this man speaks the truth. Even if it's in good nick it's got high miles and it's poverty spec - I think it's probably worth 2k tops, sorry frown

For 99% of us the colour would stop us buying the car full stop. It'd be like me trying to sell mine with the random colour body panels.

You'd have to find that 1 girl who refuses to have anything unless it's pink and who has the cash to buy it.

As it is with the worst looking alloys and in pink with a few miles under it's belt. I'd say £1000 was a fair price.

Have a look at this auction - pink MX-5, bigger engine, newer car, lower miles, I think it's an import so higher spec, and it didn't meet its reserve and only reached £1k.

You will need to find somebody who *really* wants a pink MX-5.

Thanks to all of you for slating my baby - as it is its the best handling mx5 ive driven.

Just for your info ive had an offer for the full asking price but ive decided to keep it as its a fab car!

Suprised how rude youve all been!!

Rude? - I thought that the posts were generally honest & should be seen as helpful, there were only a couple of comments that were taking the pi55 - but only tounge in cheek.

You clearly aren't used to the PH forum, this post on most other sections of PH would have seen you get ripped to shreds... biggrin

Don't take it personally - you post a thinly-veiled "for sale" thread (which is against the forum rules) with a car that is over-priced by any standards which invited comment. Several of us then gave our honest opinions.

The handling's not in questions - providing the shocks/springs are OK and the alignment and tyres are decent.

The issue was the colour and the price!

If you did indeed get an offer for the full asking price you should have grabbed on to it with both hands! I cannot comprehend how people think that limiting their market by modifying their car increases its value!

PS - calling your car your "baby" or saying you "love it" does not increase its value! The previous owner of my car "loved her baby" - not enough to get it serviced regularly though rolleyes
