Parts deliverys!

Pah I ordered some brake fluid from an online store I've not used before. So as the site said deliveries usually turn up next day before 13:00 (which would be yesterday) I arranged for my new tyres to be fitted and for the garage to change the brake fluid at the same time today.

So I drop the car off at 08:00 and walk home (5 mins).
They fit the tyres and we wait until 12:00 for the fluid.
At 12:00 they phone and ask me to remove the car as they need the space, so I run over there and bring the car back.
At 12:10 the fluid turns up. So I take the car back and they agree to do it. I jog home as I have a phone conferance to join at 12:30.

Now I'm knackered and sweatty and trying to sound professional.... umm nice.

Call me odd. But I like to see the can I supplied it in. So I know what it is if I have specified it. I just dont trust a garage to order and fit what I ask for when it comes to fluids. Tyres I can point at and go "those are the wrong ones mate". But it's harder with fluids.

Fair indeed, but they always have excellent parts delivery networks though and they'd get it for you at trade price too (sounds like you're mates with them).

It's a budding relationship. So far they have been doing a good job. But they are learning the car (they thought the timing would not be affected by the CAS to start with). Which is great because they will listen and see if I'm right rather than dismiss me off hand.

unless you've gone for a racing fluid, then DOT4 is DOT4 pretty much... and the colour of the fluid in the reservoir (plus dead pedal travel and feel) can normally tell you if they've changed it.

Unless...UNLESS. The word you are looking for is OBVIOUSLY

We now have a nice load of ATE Super Blue Racing fluid in there. Lovely. And I got back 1/2 a can. Anybody want 1/2 a liter of brake fluid?

So you mean now you have a nice load of used DOT4 in your system and there's a Corsa running round with a tyre-fitter on board and a fresh fill of Super Blue?

:P I did at least lift the bonnet and check the fluid was blue.... Although I didn't check what was coming out of the calipers....
