I called MAZDA today to get my car back as i have not heard from them since Monday when i took it in, they said they had put my coil back on & had changed the fuel filter and asked if they could keep it another day, as their technition had taken the car HOME and it appeared to running fine! Which was strange as the man at the desk had said he had taken out!!!! This MAZDA garage is obviously rubbish at fixing cars and lying....I collected my car, paid for the fuel filter and said nothing!

Is the misfire still there?

Why are main dealers such a bunch of shysters? Dishonest, liars, incompetent, and you pay through the nose for the privilege. mad

thumbup

He will see you right. I was driving down to him for an MOT yesterday when my car overheated. Just made it, he's got the parts and sorting today. Even gave me a lift to the station to get home thumbup

smile I collected my car today and the garage had solved my problem, they also did my MOT and fitted my new Alpine stereo.
The problem was the......." Camshaft Sensor" The car now runs like a dream! I recall a nice cup of tea mentioned this as a possible problem.
Thankyou again and i will definately use this garage from now on.

Good luck with your car projects nice cup of tea! byebye

Well that would do it. As I understand it the spark timing is taken from the cam sensor. So if the sensor was duff the car wouldn't know when to fire the spark plugs and "it go kaput Mr".

Fantastic! So glad you had a good experience with Freelance! I've been using them for 18 months since I got mine and have found them friendly, helpful, full of good advice, and above all well priced!! I had the dreaded HLA death rattle on my car which means head off and 16 new HLAs at 40 quid or so each, plus labour yikes. They had a spare good head kicking around, and changed it over for not much money at all. Result: a car that I am no longer embarrassed to drive!

Sensors are funny things - camshaft (or was it crankshaft?) went on my wife's old Corsa - it would be fine for 10 mins or so when it was cold, then it would suddenly just cut out eek

Glad it's all sorted out now smile
