but with regards to fitting, there are no problems. i bought my shocks and springs from performance5 and got a local garage to fit them and do the alignment. no problems at all.

I fitted mine myself (Eibach springs, KYB adjustables, 3 hours) and then had it set up by a motorsport specialist (£100). The proper setup was well worth it - they adjusted the shocks and did a full setup on it and the difference in handling compared to the standard car is huge. I think (although I stand to be corrected) that there is a big difference between a proper setup, and a cheap alignment at the local tyre bay.

A proper setup will include toe, camber & caster at the front and toe & camber at the rear. A cheap setup at the average tyre bay will adjust front toe only and is not even worth thinking about. Basically, if it doesn't cost somewhere in the region of £100, chances are they haven't done a full geometry job.
