Good afternoon guys and girls. I going to be in the market for a new car in 2 weeks time due to moving house next week so i dont have time to look at cars this weekend or next. My main question is a) what are the things to look out for? im looking for a car that will cost circa £1k need to be in fair condition but i dont mind doing some work in the future to get it A1 b) where is the best place to look at cars other than autotrader and PH? ive seen 2 cars that im intrested in but i guess they will have been sold by the time i get to go and look.

All help appreciated.

Regards

Matt

In that price range you have to look everywhere. Theres no best place to look because there are so many mx5s out there, the owners all advertise in different places.

I would try and scoop a bargin on e-bay myself.

Plenty of threads with buying advice, e.g. this one

As for where to look:

PH
Autotrader (don't forget to search for Mazda Eunos as well as Mazda MX-5)
mx5nutz.com
mx5ocforum.co.uk
eBay

Save a bit more.

You get a much better car for £1500 than £1000.

I have sold a few lads cheap cars who have then upgraded everything and end up spending far more than they could have bought a better car for in the first place.

I bought mine off here for £2,900 on sale for £3,400. Since then 2007 I have spent well over £2k on it on labour in garages, new roof, new tyres, new wheels, radiator, exhaust, bits and bats, once you get one you can't stop spending to make yourself feel good and your car look good.

My next buy is a new rain rail from mazmania Peter Jones is fitting me one soon.
