I'm from Canada, where, if you buy an LT1 F-body you're almost certainly planning your LSx swap right away. Especially an iron block 5.3, because they're so cheap. LS1's are a lot easier to make gains on and IMO much easier to work on, especially in F-body cramped engine bay.
Its not fair - I'm from the UK and LS1 motors are not cheap around here - do me a favour and stick one in the post please?balls-out said:

A friend picked up a 5.7 with all accessories, ecu, tanks etc, for £1800. You just have to be in the right place at the right time and know the right people. balls-out said:

I'm over here now If you want I could ship you one when I'm back in September. You have to change the accessories to run in a car, and usually the intake manifold.

Richard can confirm this, but I believe the '98 spec LS cars have a 1 year only ECU, after that they changed the ECU to one which covered the rest of the 4th gen era.
Yep shared with the corvette. Its an arse ECU unless you never want to modify the car for any reason. The 99 camaro ECU was used right through and including the 2005 Monaro's
