Seem to recall either getting something through recently from either DVLA or reading on-line that there were new laws relating to number plates coming in to play........didn't really take too much notice of the content...
Googled it last night and had a brief read rosco, according to what i read not that much has changed ,a few things have been added including the £100 fine has gone up,no surprise there then, you now can be fined up to a £1,000 apparently but i still couldn't find anything about points.
Not good news as apart from the daily drivers none of my cars are legal ,don't think they were before but with the fine now increased ten fold
maybe i've pushed my luck long enough,Caterhams due back soon and the front number plate was about the only thing at the front left intact
maybe because it is so small but looks like that will have to be replaced with a standard one which is almost as wide as the car and looks ridiculous
on them,Looks like the net is closing in on us what with the noise leval and Ulez camera's along with 20mph speed limits and cycle lanes.

Jon - you could consider using the motorcycle sized registration on the Caterham - as you'll probably know imported cars, including Yanks have a dispensation for using the 'bike' plates........perhaps stretch things a little with nthe Caterham? - bike numerals are slightly smaller....fine has gone up,no surprise there then, you now can be fined up to a £1,000 apparently but i still couldn't find anything about points.

Before the accident i use to drive it mainly around the back roads around here so got away with it as about once a year we
see a police car but still occasionly i will have to hit the main roads when necessary . Think a standard front plate and a screwdriver on the passenger seat
might be in order and if i get stopped i will have to eat a bit of Humble Pie and hope he or she is a understanding copper.

When I was chasing it a few years ago it made £27k at auction, go figure.
Another Corvette book has arrived in the post...
PS : it looks like that lovely £42k '66 Mustang fastback in white with the red interior has now sold.

Nice rock 'n' roll reference there RR! When Steve Marriot was in Humble Pie he was chauffeured around in this 1969 Wood & Picket Mk2 Cooper S by a chap who now works for Paul McCartney, it's currently up for sale again for £140k... makes some of the yank stuff we've been talking about look dirt cheap by comparison...!

It says in the Mini Coopers description that the car covered some 21,000 miles all those years back but now states it's covered 5,000 KM'shttps://www.carandclassic.com/car/C1525625

does that mean the speedo is on it's second time round , if so at least it's been used,
So it's gone from £27K to a asking £140K in quite a short time but after the Silverstone £600,000 Cosworth 500 last week
anything can and does happen ,My nipper paid £12,500 for his Skyline R33 V spec around 6 years ago and sold it for £22,000 3 years later
so did quite well only to see the similar one condition wise sell for £63,000 at Silverstones last Saterday , The secret is timing i suppose,Just
when you think prices have levelled out they seem to take off again,

Right, back on topic - this youtube vid is really making me want a '67 / '68 Mustang, they make the '64 - '66 incarnation look a bit weedy in comparison...

The red '68 one looks particularly good driving through the desert

How would you define a YT?
Well a corvette is a sports car, a YT would be anything oversized and under powered which also excludes muscle cars.roscobbc said:

Plan is to replace suspension, steering and brakes to try and give it better driving capabiities as well as switching to efi from the double pumper that currently resides on the 440 cu lump.
Have gone the Hotchkis TVS system, Wilwood brakes and a Holley Sniper efi 'kit'.
Currently working through the suspension after finding multitude of poor welded floor patches etc.
Will get around to posting up build pictures when I can if anyone is interested.
The look I am going for is more a pro touring stance but without the big billet rims. Got some Torq Thrusts to try but looking to get some balck or body coloured steels with maybe baby chrome hubcaps.
