Thanks, she loves it, the exclusivity and looks of a Camaro with the economy of the 2.0 turbo. This is her third Camaro, it will be used for occasional 600 mile round trip commutes after lockdown ends. The only Camaro I had was a Gen 5 SS with ZL1 bodykit. A lot different in manners and performance.

Started a new job this week involving visiting oilfield locations, which means off road.
Lots of driving when that happens and the job comes with a generous car allowance for a work truck so I've treated myself to this
Ladies & Gentlemen, I give you "The Beast"
It's not that much bigger than your old Mini van... Lots of driving when that happens and the job comes with a generous car allowance for a work truck so I've treated myself to this

I had one of those a few years ago for a year or so ('48 V8 flathead + 4 speed Hydramatic) oddly for an American car it seemed to drive and handle more like a European vehicle (a big, heavy European vehicle that is!) seemed to recall that max torque was developed at 1800 rpm or so? - you could actually 'feel' the individual cylinders firing.........

They are lovely old girls ,same as you i had a slightly later one, 51 coupe with the o.h.v V8, I got a big surprise when i collected itand saw 3 pedals sprouting out of the floor, didn't know they offered a manual option in that year,
Nice tight gear change and as you said with that torque i didn't have to change gear very often.

plus it was on my wish list. Not sure if i made the right decision as i haven't had a 49 fastback yet.
Ended up with two 59's in the end but not at the same time, one is now in Italy and the other in Denmark,
Looks to me that Bentley pinched sorry based the design of there R Type Mulliner fastback Continental on
the 49 Caddy Fastback, what do you think, At this stage i should link a photo of a 50's R Type Bentley Fastback but
