Lets see your Yank tanks!
Discussion
My two Yank Tanks. Firstly my 1990 Silverado K2500 with 5.7l V8, beautiful burgundy velour seats, with bench up front with Starcraft "coachbuilders" having gone to town fitting wooden panels to the interior. All with that authentic smell of cigar smoke!
Secondly my 2017 Dodge Challenger Scatpack Shaker (6.4l V8). Absolutely love them both and both used as daily's. Drove the dodge to work in -17 degrees at the end of 2021 which was fun! It is a great GT car and have even taken it to the track. It is a heavy brute but

It's my second one
Really like them
If you go for the SRT 8 then MPG is bad, now I know you would not expect it to be good, but it's worse
I would say slightly worse than my SRT10 supercharged
I think the fact it's a 5 speed, and geared for the strip you will only get 14mpg on motorway at 65mpg
Where as you can get just yank v8s to low to mid 20s on a run
But back to the fun stuff, think they look ace, engine sounds lovely, srt8 seats are like arm chairs
Interior is average, plenty of room and decent sized boot

Don't like red but could make a exception for that, bloody fantastic
I think the 5000 feet of chrome probably help balance out the red a little bit. It's 1998 Dodge Viper red according to the touch up paint the previous owner left me. Originally Verde Green Metallic, which of course seems to be the rarest colour of all the 67 Riviera's, which is a shame, but I like the solid red.

I really like the look of this gen Camaro. I was this close ---><--- to buying a ZL1. But in the end the extra back seat space made me plump for a Hellcat.I figured if you're having 4 seats, they might as well be useable seats. They're much roomier in the Challenger. Otherwise Id've gone for the Corvette if 2 seats was enough..
Awesome cars on this thread! This was my numbers matching 79 Z28 Chevy Camaro, sadly I sold it back in 2002 for £4500 !, awesome car. 350ci 5.7ltr, 3spd auto, had Holley 650DP carb, Edelbrock manifold, hooker headers. I stripped it down to a bare shell & has repainted, only rust was the O/S door skin which I replaced, was a Californian import, fitted new graphics & added the Cragar street star wheels. Rebuilt & lowered the front suspension, new carpets.
Took it to Santa pod a few time for the RWYB events, think it got into 15's, one of those cars I wish I still had as so original, even had the build sheet from the factory under the rear seat, think its SORN now. Reg is EFX 160T

Alright then, sold my two Mustangs, Corvette C2 prices risen steadily the last 4 months, so that the market priced itself way out of my budget I was willing to pay.
What next?
THAT
It's been a plain 350 auto, which was converted to a 400, which was stroked to 461 cui, built TH 200-4, 3.55 rear. Top quality work on the technical side, aluminium oil pan, oil cooler, Koni shocks, front wheel discs. Built engine super smooth with mild cam, not obnoxiously loud, nice lopey idle. Suspension tight, body straight with a few blemishes, paint great from a few feet away, interior with newish carpet and no smell, nice buckets, everything works.
Will leave everything like that for the time being, not sure about the decals or the two-tone, though, and the wheels. Maybe leave it as it is, or go for original look, so far no idea...
Suggestions are welcome!
Thanks
Mike

Lovely that mate, remember it well. Doubt it would have still be standard/stock now though. Couple of years ago.
2002 (last ones) WS6 Trans Am
.
Then sold that after a few years, and bought this 2004 Le Mans Commemorative, just 4k miles on the clock, over in USA, and brought to UK
They were both good fun, but in hind sight, I should have bought the King Ranch F250 short bed, that I also wanted

C1 and C2's have been unattainable for many people for a few years now. Move on to C3's which have the same chassis and running gear and save yourself 50% - C3's are currently under priced and on 'the move'.....
Yeah I know that they are basically the same, but C2s just look soooo much nicer and are smaller. As usual I was too late for a rough but complete C1 and a very nice 65 convertible, both at around 40k.
After close examination at the 50 - 60k price bracket, there are a lot of dogs, and not better than the 40k 65...
For C3s, I consider them as 15k cars at the most (obviously not early BBs, or variants up to 73), and like Fox Mustangs, I'm not willing to pay crazy asking prices.
