We have 100 coaches of which 90% are white. You're right, many drivers cannot drive at all!The good bit is all the vehicles are ten footers, so zero stress!!!

Our body man has been painting vehicles after a prang at six weeks old. Morons.
Lol !
yeah so are ours, the buses are er Wright bus , Cest la vie!
Mainly Signal White,
Any way the challys home now , i was a bit concerned about whether the paint would match up ok doing the shell in bits, Hemi Orange is actually a very fine metallic, its hard to see till the suns shines on it , then it really pops!
But now pretty sure it will be fine, done 3 random test pieces, all done with different Fan/material settings, and different air flow, all matched puka !

Are you just painting a couple of panels per go? How come?
Are you mixing paint each day you paint or is it a pre-mixed 2k and hardener added to each batch?
We plan on painting a MK2 Golf bit by bit in this manner. We did the engine bay before anything so we could start building back all the suspension brakes etc. Car is going 20v Turbo and we wanted to get everything done shakedown wise before painting it.
Will the finish come out even done on different days? The plan is to order a gallon of the metallic black and add the hardener in small batches and paint wings together, bumpers together, etc.

As stated early in the thread, im doing the car in 3 goes, purely because my spray box/booth is crap!
A big car like the chally takes a long time to get round with the gun, so dry spray becomes a issue , ideally the car should be done in one go
but that requires a uber clean booth preferable an oven, and two good painters,
I have a crap booth and just me lol, so stages it is,
All the paint is sprayed by me, same gun, same pressure, same batch colour, thinners and clear..................
Ive done this loads of times and never had a bad match, how ever there always a first time !
As your using a Black Metallic im assuming it will be solvent based? this is a straight 50/50 mix with your base thinner, then this is clear coated using a 2K clear which had the hardner etc................
Unless youve a prefect spray environment stay away from any water based paints!!!

Thank you for your kind words,
And i try not to dwell on the time, labour, money thing, as ive hundreds of hours in the car, when i restored my 57'T Bird 20 years ago i had over 2000 man hours in that!
Which at the time would have been around 44K !
Threw the panels on over the weekend, Paint match is spot on, thought it would be , but nice to know it is ! lol
All on the back burner now for a few weeks, my youngest daughter is moving back in , so got to redecorate her old room!
Which is actually no bad thing, give me a break from the car and also give it plenty of time before the flatting and polishing stage,
Scarce 70 R/T SE 383 Magnum. One of circa just 500 cars built to this spec / colour.

Fabulous , looks like the scene when Carrie rises from the grave!
I know a guy that has fire damaged 71 shell, could be of use, he also has a full rear quarter not sure which side,
Its looks like a major project, but given the right motivation , and a sensible budget it will rise from the grave permanently
