This caught my interest, although the “No Offers” part of any add is always a bit of a turn off, surely there is always some sort of deal to be done?

I'd like to, but it's a 270 mile round trip that includes a chunk of M25 and it's Good Friday, so it's a nope from me.

Since the roads were salt free and dry, I got the Firebird out of the garage for the first time this year. Turns out the gearbox has become incontinent over the winter, so that's nice. bd. In a similar vein to our cat, it had also missed the tray with some of it...

So this weekend I'll be crawling underneath to play a game of 'where the fk are you leaking from now you ste'. frown

The seller is a long time collector and dealer based on the A12 at Feering, just past (or before, can't remember) Witham or Kelvedon North Essex.

I thought it might be, I think his place backs right on to the A12??? Nearly always spot a few cars when going past, like you say, been there for years!

Its effectively a drag car only though, and unless that's what you are looking for (and in current climate, that's probably next to no one) its not really a surprise its not had any bids.......

Saw that at Goodwood a few years back, can't remember if it was the Rivival or the FOS,

Amazing how standard the car looks especially with that huge steering wheel,

There's a video somewhere that goes into it's interesting history.

That is a great channel ,perhaps more for us more mature ones which are not so keen on the usual "High Guys"

type of video's that the younger ones prefer.

Thanks Leigh ,enjoyed that probably more than the first time i watched it.

Nice story - I like the fact that he resisted the temptation to make it race legal - interesting that it was ordered with police 'spec' running gear......presumably still that spec' and (despite the 'upgrade') it has wonderfully 'wafty' suspension........love that!

I was looking at the biscuit tyres on that 61 wondering how long they would lay rubber for - 450ft lbs of torque would vapourise them in seconds.
The owner, Ed was a nice bloke - about 15 minutes before we arrived I said to my passenger that there's a 61 Impala with a 409 in it that was owned by Dan Gurney somewhere in Scotland, and I really want to see it.
10 minutes after we got there I was standing looking at it, 2 minutes after that I was sitting in it, firing it up. It had straight pipes so was awesomely loud, sure put a smile on my face.

There's some good stuff on YT, as you say just avoid the 'Hi Guys' muppets with their false smiles showing their Turkey teeth. laugh

I do like watching Derek on Vice Grip Garage though, he just amuses me with his daft terms for things, plus he's usually bringing a rusty old piece of Americana to life.

Forget his name.....father was trading from here for years.....now the son. Historically has had some significant USA Ford and Vette stuff for sale......at a price and generally needing much work.
