I'm not a big C4 fan, but this looks a far better way of spending £££ on a Corvette if you're so inclined.

Wheels Day was not as busy as last year, despite the lovely sunshine. I guess the rumours of waterlogged ground put many people off going. It was very spongy in places, so I can see it why those rumours were likely circulating.
Great to finally catch up with SRT Hellcat for a chat, but never managed to catch up with RR though, although kept stopping by his El Cam to see if he was around.
Managed to bump into several old friends as well, a couple I've not seen in nearly 6 years which was nice.
Didn't take many photo's but a small selection here....
This Cad has a great external patina, with full bagged and modern LS motor running gear, and custom re-trimmed interior......I just can't stand conti kits though
Nice Merc kustom....
Loved this WW2 era military Ford woodie.....which with a quick look underneath I think was the real deal, and so worth a few quid..!
Talking of real deal or not....
A big bad BOSS nine is a rare sight in the UK, if it was real and not just a hood scoop and a set of fender stickers....
And then there was this '71 Hemi Cuda 4-speed......
However.....
The fender tag, shows it to be a clone, as it was originally built as a 318 2 bbl car with a light duty Torqueflite
However, that's still a real elephant motor, and a Hemi is a Hemi
This 50's period style Model A hot rod was lovely (apart from being RHD) with a triple deuces sbc, Buick finned drums and two tone tuck n roll.
Greg from Chichester was there with his flatty 3w that he's been trying sell, and his mate with his flatty 5w.....I caught up with both of them later in the afternoon at the NAMCO Wheels Day party.

I to thought the show was a bit light compared to last year as well, still plenty of stunning cars though, infact i probably Great to finally catch up with SRT Hellcat for a chat, but never managed to catch up with RR though, although kept stopping by his El Cam to see if he was around.

missed as many as i saw. definitely a kid in a sweetshop experience. They seemed to have squeezed the cars together not giving
much space between them leaving a half empty field ,strange as being pre-booked they knew how many cars were going to turn up.
But otherwise Surrey Street Rodders did well ,must admit i wouldn't want to do there job.
Sorry i missed you aero , didn't spend much time around my car ,seem to be yapping to old faces i haven't seen for a while,
I did put a half hearted for sale sign in the Camino with my tel no but left it on the seat instead of on the dash ,chances are you
wouldn't have seen it.hopefully we can meet up at another show this summer .
Did have a chat with Hellcat and Motorama ,nice to see the Hellcat , looked menacing in black ,look forward to getting a ride
one day but maybe not at 200mph,Motorama had a stunning 53 Lincoln Capri coupe that i have ever seen,
All in all a great day out.

Glad you guys had a good day,
I’d have to to ventured out but far to scary
We were under siege yesterday and today
Guess tomorrow will be the same
Actually managed to mop and wax the B’
Solvo’d the chrome, then got out for a run
Seems ages since I’ve done that!!
Busy down here too, one of the busiest Good Fridays i've seen on the road,I’d have to to ventured out but far to scary

The run to Wheels Day is usually a doddle with most of the traffic going the opposite direction
but it was hectic both ways, even worse going home getting caught up in long queues on the M3
at 5 o'clock in contrast it was more like a normal Saterday today getting to the beach.
Think things up your way traffic wise seem to be a lot worse most of the time than down here although
not that good here.
Now the polishing is done need to drive the B tomorrow ,rain forecast for here on Monday so make the most of the sun ,

Whereabouts is Wheels Day held? Looks a great show.
I think yesterdays Wheels Day was the 48th one held ,would have been the 50th if it wasn't for Covid,Apart from the NSRA swop meet it seems to start off the beginning of the Yank/Hot Rod show season.
Haven't been to a show yet that comes close to it for sheer variety ,something for everybody.

It’s funny really, takes so much longer to go anywhere now,
We used to do Folkestone to Pool, in 3 hrs 3.5 max
Back in the 70’s
But now I couldn’t get near that even driving at night,
Motorway closed and diverted traffic, speed reduced everywhere, cameras spying etc,
Progress apparently
Hear through the jungle drums that a couple of guys
Have brought a big’ol coaching pub in Challock
It’s got a large car park obviously, and they are setting it up as a permanent meeting place for a regular classic car meet.
It’s part of the Kent/Wye country tour so some nice routes around that area and generally not overly rammed!
So hopefully a pie and a pint sort of thing?
Maybe some good news for a change

Come over it will be fab, once you’ve negotiated the 2 mile queue on the slip road,
Driven around for an hour looking for a parking place,
The poxy council even charge now for parking on
The battle field along Seasalster sea wall!!
Unbelievable

Coz everything is closed you can actually get about,
Marvellous, we let a guy do a Ueyyy in Birchington
He was driving the Leary’est late Mustang I’ve seen
It had a huge wide body, sounded like a race car
And had Ghost embossed across the rear end
Definitely not for shrinking violets !
