Your old '68 Javelin looks ace, Rosco thumbup overall, I also prefer the Javelin body style to the earlier AMX, however I think both are really great designs.

It does seem that pricing has steadily crept up, however I still think they are attractively priced compared to the usual suspects from the big three, albeit you will more than likely need to bring one in from the states.
Early SWB AMX compared against 'full length' Javelin is much like looking at Audi Quatro SWB and LWB versions - SWB versions of both cars look kinda 'dumpy' and a little unbalanced.........but, nevertheless nice cars, all of them - just looking objectively.........

Agree on the AMX, a nice overall shape but the dumpy SWB look doesn't light the flame unfortunately, and the asking price of the red one linked to earlier is way out of my league. I like the Javelin shape though.

Back ache has struck this morning, I almost fell off my loco last night climbing out of the cab down at glamourous Cricklewood, I'm getting too old for this lark! Was planning to clear the garage out this afternoon, think I'll just relax and peruse the classifieds instead.... coffee

My thoughts exactly, even though the storage place I mentioned is just outside the town I want whatever I buy to be tucked up in my own garage. Trying to stay focused, lots of distractions that happen to be just over 17ft in length though wink

Minis - always loved them since I was a nipper, my first car was a Mini, and the second, third, fourth, fifth etc. Had fifteen of the little buggers now and that’s enough I think.

I’ll keep looking whilst building up the pot a bit more...... if the Lambo goes which yank(s) are you going for next....?
Sounds like you need a 2 yanks, muscle and a cruiser because no matter what you buy you will be looking over your shoulder
Need at least 4 to cover the bases laugh

Kustom/cruiser, muscle car, pickup and a hot rod smile

If only.... if only.... etc etc! Ok I'll give it a go based on those four....

Kustom / cruiser - slightly lowered Pontiac Bonneville two door hardtop in metallic turquoise blue with a black vinyl top, blue interior riding on grey spoked torque thrusts.

Muscle car - '68 Dodge Charger in cliched but very tasty looking all black 'Bullitt' spec, with all four hubcaps intact.

Pickup - late '60s Chevy El Camino in candy apple red and matching red interior riding on Magnum 500s.

Hot Rod - wouldn't even know where to start...!

wink

Loving that, i usually like my trucks ratty but that is stunning in that blue,

Very 50's and with decent mechanic's fitted, nothing not to like there.

Still like the Mark Donohue tribute Transam AMX for sale in the "Classic American " mag, just needs to be cheaper,

Not quite but that's a whole different ball game anyway, might think about changing the Alfa daily for a QPV at some point.

Very much an 'upmarket' Galaxie - a 'sister' car to the '66 428 powered Galaxie 7 Litre I owned all those years ago. As nice as the Mercury interior my 7 Litre had an Emberglow interior (burnt metallic orange/red colour) - unbelieveable appearance..........

White interior - but with desirable 4 speed
love the interior especially the leather bucket seats, i had a couple stacked headilght Galaxie's

can't remember if 65 or 66 , one convertible and one 4 dr pillarless but not like yours having the front bench seat

Is there any difference between 65 and 66 .
Yes - I had both - '65 had a 'squarer' shape and 'square' rear lights - '66 had more rectangular shape rear lights and a 'coke' bottle kick to the rear end.
65

66
Similar looking fastback design bottom right in this nice period photo of Chicago taken in '67....

Not such a bad idea ,it worked for De Tomaso and seen plenty of early Aston's before they got valuable with XK engines,
