Perfect project car for you P5B wink and possibly an award for the vaguest advert ever.

https://cars.trovit.com/listing/1971-amc-javelin.4...

Paint looks flat, but at least it's a manual.

This may not be everybody's cup of tea but there' a 48 Plymouth convertible just been listed

on " Car & Classic" Absolutely to die for, Always fancied myself as Danny Zuko smokin

Just noticed it's RHD ,yikes I don't care i still love it.

How can a average Mustang fastback be worth the same as this , crazy market we are in at the moment.

I know the car.
Two good friends of mine both have one as well, and one of them organises a once a year UK meet for the P15 Dodge/Plymouth's, and another mate has a '48 2-door sedan.

Here are all 3 of them at Pendine back in 2014.

I've seen the Dodge/Phymouth meet mentioned on the internet, Lovely period in time,

Only problem for me is the way they drive , Would be a purest nightmare but would love to

leave the car completely stock visually but cram a 350 and auto box in there plus power steering and brakes to boot.,

I'm allowed because i'm older than you lot, only just. rolleyes

What helped acceptance of the 'old car' enthusiasm with my wife was her fathers interest in cars (mostly new or nearly new) from Alfa 2600 spider, Mark 9, Mark 10 Jags, RR Clouds, Shadows, when things got tight a Jensen Healy, Merc 200, 200D and finally another Shadow..........so it came natural for her to like cars......fortunately!

If wifey works with you not against helps enormously if afflicted with our obsession,

Having 2 ex wives showing no interest in cars what so ever, The 1st one's dad drove a A40 when they were modern

and the 2nd one's mum and dad didn't even drive , I should have made a mental note but you know what they say about

love is blind, as a bat in my case so it made a refreshing change when i ended up with a girlfriend ( think i mentioned this before) who had

this infatuation for the Blower Bentleys and the Bentley boys who raced them, one in particular Sir Tim Birkin,

Spent a lot of time at Brooklands and VSCC meeting and even bought her a original first edition of his autobiography called

"Full Thottle" and hired a 20's Bentley 3 litre for her to drive with centre throttle for a Christmas present.

Strange then that she should go off with someone who plays golf for his excitement,

Perhaps i should have bought her a dress instead, confused

All these 'elevated' prices for older cars currently really means that one has to pay careful attention to market prices being asked (and actually being realised) - I was looking to sell my Vette about 18 months ago and considering getting a late model C6 (but not Z06) and perhaps installing a STS turbo system or a huffer to get more performance. Didn't attempt to market the Vette outside of the CCCUK club (didn't want the messer's etc) - perhaps glad I didn't end up selling it considering the way prices are going - seems that the very original silver 427 C3 with the 400 hp 3 x 2bbl engine made just over reserve today at auction (over £50K).........nice price.

One of the guys in that group (and is also in the VHRA) has done exactly that with his '48 Plymouth Coupe, 350 + TH350 etc. Only thing for him though, to stay in VHRA, means he can't go the IFS+disc brakes+PAS+radial tyres route, as none of that modern stuff is allowable in VHRA.

Dodge/Plymouth - gotta stick a Mopar in there. A 318/340 would wake it up. Hmei more so...even an old Red Ram would be fun.

Yep, old Red Ram would be the perfect option IMHO as well to stay in period and not overwhelm the chassis. The 3 owners of the ones in the photo I've posted have all hopped up the straight sizes though with period vintage speed equipment (dual carbs, finned ally heads, period Fenton headers, later 50's Mopar overdrive transmissions etc.,etc).......but for me a yank has to have a V8.

Morning all.
I popped round to see a mate of mine yesterday afternoon for a long chat sitting outside in the sun.
He owns 6 Lamborghini's.
I mentioned your issue and he said speak to Raj at Super Car Service.
His number is 02037015756
I forgot about him. Another mate with a Murcielago has used him.
Very good on the newer stuff and electronics.
Let me know how you get on
Spoke to Raj this morning, very helpful guy ,

As expected he said that it is difficult to say what the problem is without seeing the car,

Did suggest one or two things that it might be ,

Said if no luck with the electrician who's going to check the immobiliser he would have a look ,

just getting it up to north London.

He's now put the fear of God up me as he said that because i've turned the engine over

so many times i could have washed the rings with petrol and could blow it up when it does start.

and this could cause low compression, Thanks for your help again ,will keep you posted

Funnily enough, on the way back from clay busting yesterday morning, I followed a chap in a 30's blower type Bentley wazzing up the A3 and onto the M25.....he weren't hanging around either, I was sitting behind him doing 75-ish along the M25. I think he might have been going to Brooklands as he turned off the M25 at Chertsey, although, having come up the A3, I would have thought he'd stay on that and cross over to Brooklands from there, rather than go all around the M25 to Chertsey.
