All these 'elevated' prices for older cars currently really means that one has to pay careful attention to market prices being asked (and actually being realised) - I was looking to sell my Vette about 18 months ago and considering getting a late model C6 (but not Z06) and perhaps installing a STS turbo system or a huffer to get more performance. Didn't attempt to market the Vette outside of the CCCUK club (didn't want the messer's etc) - perhaps glad I didn't end up selling it considering the way prices are going - seems that the very original silver 427 C3 with the 400 hp 3 x 2bbl engine made just over reserve today at auction (over £50K).........nice price.
Was that price achieved here or in the States rosco, sounds a nice car and good price, maybe you should keep your C3 after all, there a long time gone , only advantage for you buying a C6 is that it's more user friendly
but you may get regrets every time you see a C3 especially if it's yours.

Yep, old Red Ram would be the perfect option IMHO as well to stay in period and not overwhelm the chassis. The 3 owners of the ones in the photo I've posted have all hopped up the straight sizes though with period vintage speed equipment (dual carbs, finned ally heads, period Fenton headers, later 50's Mopar overdrive transmissions etc.,etc).......but for me a yank has to have a V8.
I think the same, needs to be a V8,, To do what i would like to do is just to expensive and to big a project for me to take on.I would leave it as is ,not that i would drive it that often, Maybe convert it to LHD,

Good grief , just want ones needs to hear on a Monday Morning !
First thought would dismiss that likelihood, as you believe lack of Bang water is why were not running, however my knowledge of such things is zero!
Never even sat in one........................................................................................
I'l try and get down to see my man but he'l probably say the same, as to be fair without it in front of you its pretty impossible to say!
RR bit like your past ladies im afraid, tits or tyres its gunna be trouble ...............................................................
Love the Blower Bentley story, did make me smile, she sounded like a keeper, you should have brought one !
also the compression could be down due to me turning it over and over, this is assuming as you say the go go juice
is going in. soooooooo many if's and buts, Difficult for anyone to say without seeing the car.
Yes i should have bought a Blower Bentley instead of a Lambo, only need petrol and spark ,
amongst all the others on my lotto win it is firmly up there , Been watching Brian Johnson driving
his in Miami on YT ,

Funnily enough, on the way back from clay busting yesterday morning, I followed a chap in a 30's blower type Bentley wazzing up the A3 and onto the M25.....he weren't hanging around either, I was sitting behind him doing 75-ish along the M25. I think he might have been going to Brooklands as he turned off the M25 at Chertsey, although, having come up the A3, I would have thought he'd stay on that and cross over to Brooklands from there, rather than go all around the M25 to Chertsey. Not a cheap area, A guy local to me had a early 50's Bentley R Type fastback with Y9 no plate,
also had two 20's Speed model 4 1/2 litre cars , don't know if they were Blowers or not , reg no's were Y6 and Y7,
He died a few years ago and haven't seen them since.

I would have sensibly thought that removal of spark plugs, turning over the engine initially for 10, 15 seconds or so would eject any excess fuel build-up in the cylinder. Then leave for an hour or so to help any remaining petrol to vapourise - then repeat several times over a few hours to ensure that the fuel vaporises from all cylinders. If you are concerned about 'wash down' and petrol dilution of the oil simply 'pull' the dipstick and do a 'sniff' test - does it smell of petrol? - is the oil level higher than what you remember? - if still in doubt perhaps do an oil change?
Thanks for your advise, Looks like i or maybe a specialist will have to fresh oil change just in case ,Need a lift as car is so low and i may do even more damage jacking it up,
Going to take a couple of plugs out tomorrow to see if there wet,no easy task and give the oil a sniff,
If they are wet will have a go at getting the rest of them out, means stripping a lot of bits and pieces off first though,
Guess the Roadsters oil leak will have to wait.

Thread drift is fine by me, we usually end up back in the same place don't we...?
I had a nice dream last night (well this morning more like since I got home from work at 03.00) my over stimulated grey cells had me and the Mrs building our own house in mid-century 'Palm Springs' sprawling bungalow style complete with palm trees lining the driveway, leading to an underground lair rammed with classic yank metal.... all mid '60 to early '70s stuff, Mustangs, Cougars, Impalas, Bonnevilles, C1, 2 and 3 Corvettes, first gen Camaros and Firebirds, Dodge Polaras, Coronets, Chargers and Challengers, Plymouth Furys and Roadrunners, huge wafty Buicks and Chryslers.... it was heaven. Then my alarm went off and I woke up with a bad back again, typical!

Mustn't miss out on these lovely sunny days,Can't think of anything better than driving the Challenger , probably the best
mental tonic for you at the moment.
Might depress the guy with the Dart enough if you rolled up in your shinny Challenger and drop the price to
where you can't walk away.,

And yes a proper 2 door Fury Coupe is very desirable ............................................... 4 doors not even close...............
...and the one I saw is that shape but yep, you guessed, a 4 door I'm in danger of being a danger to my own wallet! I've bought and sold and owned (and still own) a lot of cars over the years, I'm in the same age group as RR, (ie, just a nipper really ) but Yanks and much knowledge about them has evaded me completely, hence I keep asking dumb questions on this thread!

Almost forgot, 1971 Pontiac Le Mans looks good value compared to all
around it at the moment, nice colour to. Car & Classic ref C1330257,
That’s odd I can’t seem to find it on c&c, not in the Pontiac listing anyway.around it at the moment, nice colour to. Car & Classic ref C1330257,
Loved my LeMans, drove very well, the grey car looks nice in the pics, not small though, think its the same floor pan/frame as a Chevelle
This one being a 400, its vitally a GTO,
For me the stand out car at the moment is the Blue Demon, currently 13500, looks like the reserve has been meet, great car for the uk, ticks every box
but its abit understated when compared to something like the above Pontiac .......................................
