Back in 2009 brother in law had a superbird and a dodge charger daytona.
Shipped the daytona to California and we drove it to the welbourne museum for the opening and then drove it round Talladega before the 500 with another 50 or so daytonas and superbird..
Then on to don garlits car show then back to California to ship it home.
6500 miles and a lot of filling up of gas .
Five times a day in a twenty gallon tank

Corvette it is then!
Main problem with 'vette's (like any car of that era) is rust, and especially the birdcage on a 'vette.aeropilot said:

Any Cougar would do really!
No estimate on that one above.... any guesses gents....?

"Any Cougar would do really"! - Nothing wrong with a 289 or 302 or even a 351.....but if you are going all out to get yourself a car, why not step-up a bit. OK so a 428 CJ will be unattainable but a 390 could just 'slip under the radar' in terms of affordable price. A manual one of those would be a real treat to drive in performance terms.

Yes, a S-code 4-speed Cougar would be cool (a Bullitt Mustang in a posh frock in effect) "Any Cougar would do really"! - Nothing wrong with a 289 or 302 or even a 351.....but if you are going all out to get yourself a car, why not step-up a bit. Ford's 390 cu in engine in GT spec' in a Mustang is a nice gutsy drive. The real secret is to find it in something else perhaps less 'noticeable' (like a Cougar, Fairlane or Cyclone)
Fairlane or Cyclone would be my choice.Edited by roscobbc on Wednesday 21st April 22:58
