Fairlane or Cyclone would be my choice.
My '67 GTA was a 'distress' sale during the late 90's/early 00's crash - went to Belgium. Arguably the best driving and best 'balanced' Yank I have ever had!

Just noticed a very sharp looking 72 Dodge Dart Swinger on the

Mopar Muscle Association site, 318, on a set of period Centrelines £13,500 ,

Is it worth checking out a c4 Corvette? I think the later years are sorted in regards to looks, engine and trans if you want a manual. They are creeping up in price.
The C4's not the most loved Vette so should be able to take advantage of that on the price .

The later the better , A good one drives well especially with a manual box.

Dart and Dusters are a good option because of their size.
When I was over in Texas 5 years ago, for the Lonestar Roundup show, one of the guys from UK that I was hanging around with, who has had a '70 Challenger since the early 80's was there with his son who was early 20's, and they were looking for a Dart or a Duster for him, largely due to garage size issues. There was a solid but tatty 72 Duster with a 340 and a 4-speed on a trailer in the swap meet that he was seriously interested in, but the seller was not budging on the price, and it was thus just a bit beyond his budget allowing for shipping back etc.

In a past life I was an apprentice panel beater. My boss did a deal where we finished a customised DeSoto in exchange for a 71 Cougar that had hit a power pole. It was a good looking car when we got it painted and back on the road, had power everything and a 351/sludgematic.

Its a bit of a Darts Match atm there's about 5 for sale! Fun car, go really well with a 318, i'd be up for one, but they are all slushers,
My next car has to be a Stick! ...........................................................................

So not just me then confused Without looking back on the ad i think there was 2 prices , £15K and £13,500 ,

He must have reduced it when posting it on the Mopar site,

Thought it ideal for a first time yank buyer with a restricted garage space , know anyone that fits that description. scratchchin ,

Must have been a great adventure, now that's what you call a road trip,

You must have been a novelty amongst the other owners coming all the way from the UK, clap

In the days before the yanks saw many Brits my hairdresser and his mate drove from New York to LA

in a 57 Bentley Continental convertible with a Union Jack draped across the boot lid,

He said he didn't pay for anything when going into the dinners on the way down, everybody wanted to treat them,

Think there was a bit of mother and daughter action going on when they make one of their many overnight stops.

The bakelite radio knobs melted when crossing the desert. tumbleweed

When's the next trip planned thumbup

Thanks RR, got a link please...?

Can't multi quote so catching up on everyone's posts overnight - Some Bloke, thanks for the C4 suggestion, nice cars but if I'm going for a 'vette it has to be the C3 wink

Rosco - thanks for the info re the Cougars and C3 birdcage inspection, duly noted wink

Was looking at Darts and Dusters last night (amongst other cars obviously) before logging out and this one has re-appeared on c&c... https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1330743 ... not sure if it's the same seller but it appeared around this time last year with the same photos, only larger, can't remember what the asking price was back then though. Looks more like a shopping car than a miniature muscle car in this guise but I quite like it, can always fit a set of Cragars or Magnum 500s to beef it up a bit.

Delboyvette - fantastic photos, must have been some trip!

More Americana from the hard drive....

Bit of progress on the garage front, we're going ahead with swapping the two single doors for a wide single one, this will make access much easier in the long run wink

Here.... MMA ad says 13.5k, but when you click on link as said above, it says 15k..?

That white Duster is very much like the white one that Mo and his son were looking at in the swap meet at Lonestar Roundup 5 years ago.

Great, thanks - a squeeze into the garage with just 8'' to spare but worth a look, tidy looking two door styling, very nice wink

I've just realised I've been talking out my arse (no surprise there!) and it wasn't at Lonestar Roundup in 2016, it was at the CHRR at Bakersfield in 2017....old age kicking in again frown

Thank son, The wheels look ok, and the overall quality isnt to bad, as per these days Made in China ! the centre caps are chromed plastic, flimsy and located with 5 tiny countersunk cap bolts, im guessing these are also Chinese as they are so soft think they are probably Plasticine !
One cant remove or fit a wheel without removing the cap first, which is a pain, especially if it needs to be done on the roadside!
As with all this stuff its Style over Substance ,

With the car on its Mopar Ralley's and 14" 225 tyres it was completely compliant and fully chuckable in the bends/roundabouts etc,
I'l have to trim the arch lips back a tad and hope i can return to a fully usable non rubbing motor car, if not they will be gone!
Disappointing really, ive waited ages to get around to changing these !

Since my whole ethos is the complete opposite to the above, 4 new 14"'s will be on order soon!
I'l restore my Ralley's
