maybe the colour ,it's not that exciting for a higher range Mustang.
And yet it was back when new in 1970, as it was by far the most popular colour when new, with just under 1500 of the just over 7000 odd BOSS 302's in 1970 were Code D Bright Yellow.
Is that bright yellow, looked more beige on my pc, but only looked at the single photo at the beginning of the ad.

I feel a bit disheartened looking at the prices of some classics, not just the yank stuff we're yacking about gleefully here, I've definitely missed the boat on a lot of the stuff I've yearned for over the years.
You forget that your Mini's have gained in value over the last few years , keeping pace with the inflation

on whatever car you decide to buy, would be sad if you had to buy a yank or whatever as your first classic now at todays prices.

Yep.

Time for a gratuitous BOSS 302 photo perhaps...?
(and yes the big bad BOSS 429 behind was for sale)

I'm wondering if some of these so called auctions are actually 'rigged' in the same way as estate agents 'rig' property sales?
Some of the vehicles seem to mysteriously 'disappear' a day or so before action end - with no explanation. Then we have vehicles like this Boss 302 that by all rights should soar up the scale despite wrong engine fitment (OK original comes with it) yet seems to hold back at £20K......if that has reached seller reserve he must be quaking knowing what it should be up to.
Then we have the 2005 Italian register C7 Corvette that also finishes this evening that has been languishing at 25000 Euros for a number of days all of a sudden has a 35000 Euro bid and has now gone to 38600 Euro's which is probably as far as you'll want to go (despite being low miles) if you are UK buyer once you add buyers premium, shipping, and perhaps 'full-fat' VAT.......
I Not sure about no reserve cars ,I've seen some £100K cars with no reserve, dangerous for the owner ,even if they get a friend to bid the

price up the commission is automatically deduced out of the buyers card , unless they have a secret reserve agreed between the owner and

the auction and only put no reserve as bait, but that could be messy or even illegal,

I do think the auction may have regular bidders who just bid the prices up to near the reserve, have seen bidders name coming up time and

time again but never buying anything. just like the none on line auctions do and have been for years.Common practice.

Sellers do it on E-Bay using either friends or wives account to bump the price up to reserve

see no difference here.

Well around this time last year, besides the Italian stuff, I had my heart set on a decent usable '65 to '68 Mustang fastback, not a chance of it happening now short of inheriting a large wedge or borrowing it, which I don't really want to do. Like Mustangs and E-Types, old Minis exist in a value bubble all their own, five years ago you could buy a rust free Mk1 850 for around £5k, today that same car is knocking on £20k because they've been dragged up in value by the daft prices being asked for the Coopers etc, even bog standard early Clubmans and 1275GTs are going skywards now. It's madness really when you take a step back and look at it. My Mk2 S is insured for almost twice that, but I didn't restore it for the perceived future value or to cash it in,
I (we!) won't be parting with it anyway wink

Check out Minis on ebay, there are always a load of rust ridden dross on there with prices hovering around the £7k to £10k mark!

Did you see the various Mini's and Cooper's that went across the block at the Manor Park Auction last week?

All sold IIRC, apart from the ex-Britt Eklund 1991 Rover Cooper, and the '63 Neville Trickett Cooper 1275 Sprint R never got even close to its reserve price of £40k.

A '59 Morris Mini Minor sold for £18k
A '66 show quality restored surf blue Mini Countryman sold for an whopping almost £25k!!
A nice '66 Austin Cooper S 1275 sold for almost £34k.

Looks a nice unmessed with car, shuts look original and a little grubby which i like, colour looks to me a cross between

yellow and beige, not making much at the moment, doubt if it will sell for that,

Maybe the tweeds that buy them now are put off by the stickers,

personally i love them ,gives it that race period look, just wants those Minilights fitted,

No, but just had a look on their website at the results - that '66 Mk1 S looks the part, looks like the interior is all or mostly Newton Commercial replacement stuff which is common enough now, if it still had the original brocade trim and seats it could easily have fetched over £40k. The red Trickett Sprint is gorgeous, I've seen it in the flesh several times and would love it but I'm surprised it didn't sell this time round (it was up on c&c for ages at £50k). There are a few for sale at the moment which have been hanging around for ages, all genuine cars modified by Neville's own fair hand. Top of the tree would be one of Neville's or a Stewart & Ardern one with rectangular Cibie headlights and a few Radford touches to boot. Concensus is that S&A only did about fifty or so before giving up on the idea.

Well, if it doesn't appear in the 'sold' section by tomorrow, I'd venture to say it was pulled before auction end?

Oh , that's why then , crazy market ,car only fetched what is now regularly asked for some notch backs ,

Maybe a first time buyer is intimidated by the Boss title and would be more comfortable with a standard notch, confused

It went up to £29,500K unsold,

If not sold it will just vanish unless the owner wants to list it on the " Buy It Now section,

The car went to the end of the auction, don't think they are allowed to withdraw them like on E-Bay.

The price of a scruffy 65/66 Fastback or clean notch,

For selling point unless those stickers are hiding something they need to be removed,

Noticed a concours gold 63 C2 that i saw at the NEC Classic Car Show on the CCC. UK stand is being auctioned by "Silverstones",
Serious collectors car and money i should think.

Interesting - that could be one of the local Essex CCCUK members - I'll need to check it out - very, very nice car!

I suspect outside of a die-hard muscle car enthusiast, the 3 x BOSS's are probably a bit off the radar on many people.

A lot of deals are done after the auction is finished so may appear on the sold section at a later time,

That lovely blue 69 Camaro Z28 that was on a few weeks ago finished the auction unsold but

a sale was agreed some hours after, if you are a buyer it's a good time to catch the seller a little depressed,

Must be the same car, can't be two like that and colour,

Spent a long time looking round it,

Strange as i don't like gold but could live with that all day long.
