Sorry i know this is a yank forum but some of you guys are into other classic cars,
stunning 58 LHD 356A coupe listed today on" Car& Classic" for £99K not sure if it's blue or green either way it's lovely,
Just love these old Porsches, good ones are under valued compared to the prices of early 911's
also a cheap 420 G (MK 10) for £9,995,

Ad says its Fjord Green, and yes, its absolutely lovely.Just love these old Porsches, good ones are under valued compared to the prices of early 911's
I'd take a 356 over an early (pre-1970) 911.
I was talking to the young German lad from Porsche Classic at the Revival in 2019 about the 356 bodyshell he was working on that they brought over to display, and about how difficult (and expensive!) they are to restore...

I've owned 3 of these ,from 2 scruffy ones A and a B to a 65 mint C, wish i still had them, at least they started,
My neighbour owned a Carrara 4 cam with the original rudge wheels which must be the Holy Grail of 356's .
along with his Ferrari 250 and his wives Facel Vega HK 500,

Noticed a concours gold 63 C2 that i saw at the NEC Classic Car Show on the CCC. UK stand is being auctioned by "Silverstones",
Serious collectors car and money i should think.
Interesting - that could be one of the local Essex CCCUK members - I'll need to check it out - very, very nice car!Serious collectors car and money i should think.

Spent a long time looking round it,
Strange as i don't like gold but could live with that all day long.

Technically, its not gold, its Saddle Tan - but I'm biased as it's my favourite '63 split window colour.roscobbc said:

One extreme to the other my Rods have no paint to polish or carpets to hoover ,just the way i like them.

Anybody know what the boss made??
No sign of it now !
It went up to £29,500K unsold, No sign of it now !
If not sold it will just vanish unless the owner wants to list it on the " Buy It Now section,
The car went to the end of the auction, don't think they are allowed to withdraw them like on E-Bay.
The price of a scruffy 65/66 Fastback or clean notch,
For selling point unless those stickers are hiding something they need to be removed,
That should make a few people's bum go!
Joking aside how great would it be to see some of these "investment " tossers get seriously burned in another crash
Cars are for ragging around, if they aint fun whats the point? Weve just been out for for a coastal tour, Minnis Bay, Botany Bay, Ramsgate etc,
Didnt pass one other Classic of any type ! I guess there all sitting in a bubble somewhere

Oooofff.......along with his Ferrari 250 and his wives Facel Vega HK 500,
She kept the cars but she must be getting on a bit so fully expected the cars to appear
somewhere ,maybe at a auction but no sign of them unless the son's still own them.

I popped out mid-morning to Tesco, and there was a nice maroon '65 Mustang coupe parked up in the car park, and it looked remarkably small in between the endless SUV's and whatnot. The Mustang was all stock as well by the looks of it, narrow whites, hub caps etc.Didnt pass one other Classic of any type ! I guess there all sitting in a bubble somewhere

That Boss looked like you could go out and enjoy it and improve while doing so, That should make a few people's bum go!

At that sort of money even if there was marks under the stickers or at worst if the paint came off
wouldn't be a big deal to paint the wings at that money,I wonder just how far from the reserve it was.
The high end stuff have taken a bit of a hit, like Tour de France F12's going from £750K to £400K/£450K
but classics mostly below £60K seemed to gathering momentum if anything ,maybe this was just a hiccup or maybe things to come.
The toffs love paying top money for top cars but seem to have little interest in midway cars that we like as we have the vision
and are capable of sorting most things ourselves plus we wouldn't pay the £65k/£85K for a near to perfect one anyway,
That mint 69 Z28 sold on Collecting Cars for £43,500 and was listed on E-Bay a few days later for £55K and sold almost immediately
because it was perfect , Yanks don't seem to do well on the "The Market and "Collecting Cars" doing better at" Historics "
and "Silverstones", the Z28 didn't even sell during the auction and sold after it ended.
The weather was better today than the forecast suggested so traffic was light but i would have taken the MK2 to the Goodwood
JDC meeting as planned if i'd known it wasn't going to be that bad , went up in my daily instead , There wasn't one MK2 there, plenty of E
Types and XK 120/140's and Mike Hawthorn look alike MK1's ,
Still busy but the numbers were down compared to the last one ,can only think the doom and gloom forecast put people off.

Sounds nice ,they look good stock ,just like out of a 65 catalogle , Strange quite happy with a stock notch or convertible ,hub caps ,white walls even auto if that's what it's got but have a overwhelming
desire to modify the fk out of a Fastback with a stick.
Didn't see much either classic wise on the way to Goodwood, Did see a 430 Ferrari and a luminous yellow Aventador and
that was about it,
Yeah the weather was a bit iffy, busy busy in Margate ! Shame people only seem to bring out the cars for shows etc, maybe show boating makes em feel special lol,
Anyway we enjoyed the run, tank of gas as per Just the spare wheel and the trunk carpet to do,
RR did you sort the getting hot issue on the Jag? ive noticed the Dodge is running a tad higher, of late, Petrol issue's im thinking? i run on super but pretty sure that crap now!
Me again with my weekly dumb Yank motors question
I have a lead on a possible sale of a 2003 Dodge Ram which seems to be up for a good price and is said to be running well, although I have only seen a picture so far. Thing is, it's the 5.9 engine but not the Hemi. I believe that puts it c.100bhp down on the Hemi lump? Is the non-Hemi lump any good, or is it regarded as something of a boat anchor, and hard to shift?
I assume with it being a newer car that an engine swap isn't an option due to all the ancillary systems and electronics :shudder: that would entail?

Any problems driving with the new knee or is that all ok now.
When the overdrive went like it did with a big bang along with the
overheating plus st weather forecast i kind of slowed down, no make that a grinding halt
so when the weather didn't seem so bad this morning i was not prepared ,
I'm going to look at it this week ,could be simple like the thermostat where it's been standing so long,
Going to ignore the overdrive for a month ,don't want to strip it just in case there is some interest from the ad and the cars in bits,
Will give me time to get on with the oil leak on the roadster and maybe the Gallardo could be running by then,
If it's true that it goes in 3's so maybe due for a break once these are sorted.

Yeah all good, tracks nice, no drama's , legs still painful , but getting better, can walk without the horrible stabbing behind the knee cap,
Using a rally as a spare, but going to order another ARE, just to keep the car uniform ,
Sort of done now so got to watch out for the ok whats next Syndrome ............................ hopefully my dodgy knee and getting back behind my rifles will keep my mind from starting something else ! ....................lol...................
I've been looking for some parts for the Firebird, outer and inner window felts, dome light, seat foams, rear view mirror and what not. I found firebirdcentral.com who seem to have just about everything. Total cost for the parts I want is $353, but the calculated shipping is coming in at $750!
It does say 'don't be alarmed by high international shipping quotes, we'll only charge you what it actually costs, and you may get a refund'. Yeah, well I am alarmed so I've emailed to ask what the shipping will be. I know shipping costs are high at the minute, but Jesus Harry, that's a lot. Bearing in mind I'll still get clobbered for VAT and duty, that makes the cost of getting trim parts ridiculous!
On a lighter note, I qualify as winner of the tit of the month competition. Went to stick some fuel in at the local Shell garage yesterday, my usual pump was closed, so I went to the nearest pump with V-Power. I duly pumped £30 in, then looked up and realised I was holding the V-Power diesel pump. Cue a very embarassed middle aged man pushing his not exactly subtle car to the side and getting his phone out. Anyhow, no damage done, apart from the £250 it cost me to have someone come and pump my tank empty, thanks to doing it on a bank holiday weekend Sunday.
