What you think scratchchin
I think you should buy something anyway, after all it’s your turn - Leigh bought his Firebird, l’ve just bought the Maser and news at ten has finished his Chally so it’s only right and proper that you should be next in line!

Couldn’t find that hot rod with the Maser transplant.....!

Nice original race spec RS2600 with race history.....that will be close to six figures I suspect.
What would you do with it though......historic touring car series is mega expensive for a season shelping around europe, and you'd need a pit crew etc., its not a solo undertaking at all!!!!

Going off topic again, but what the hell! Went to a local classic car meet last night, a bit of everything there. The Firebird got some nice comments including one from a quite animated Italian chap who told me 'Issa Beeeootifal a car'. biggrin
Cheered me up no end. Lovely evening for it, windows down there and back, I even had a bit of a go with the B&M ratchet shifter on the way home.
I spoke to the organiser, he said it was a record turnout, 330 cars. Not bad for a Tuesday night! Pictures nicked from their FB page.

Problem witrh Valiants (and perhaps a similar 'thing' with Rover V8's and Daimler 2 1/2 Litre's) was that were the first V8 powered car for most budding and potential American car enthusiasts - and, accordingly they were fooled in to thinking that a nice meaty V8 'soundtrack' meant that you were driving a real muscle car. As nice to drive as these cars may have been usually the very first traffic light 'Grande Prix' would end up with an extrememely disappointing outcome for one of the drivers...........

Back in the mid 70's when I had my '68 Javelin there was a local guy with an early 3 litre Capri. It had a Shorrocks (perhaps a 'small' Jimmy') blower and seemed to be boosted to within an inch of its life - the owner always seemed to be re-building it. One night he thrashed the pants of my Javelin, not by a little - simply made it look as though I was standing still - very impressive indeed. It never sounded like a V6 - odd noise, more like a 2 or 4 cylinder car.........

It's frustrating having the builders in, when we had our extension built about ten years ago we couldn't wait for them to leave.

Treat yourself to something nice as soon as you can wink

By the way, found out from my mate today that he didn't buy that red Dodge Dart in the end although he did think about it quite seriously. He came to the conclusion that eleven cars is enough, especially as only five of them are runners!

doesn't have the same effect on me as a new set of wheels , but long overdue .thumbup

Use to have a X pack 3 .0 Capri around 15 years ago but i think this one is a step toooo far ,

Different car and money,

Quite like that one on e bay and the Barracuda on "The Market" mainly because of the price rather than getting excited about

the cars ,seem good value in todays market.I think they are usable as well not just weekend cars, never given them much thought

up till now,

It was. Cider in hand, looking at cars, chatting to old friends, what's not to like?

The rod shows on DVLA as first registered 1938, not 1932, and 3500cc. Is it a glassfibre job? Rover motor? I didn't like to knock on the roof to check... It was nice, whatever.
