I've never really got the Ford Pop thing, even back in the 70's when buying Custom Car and Street Machine etc., even when Pinball Wizard and Speed Freak were two of the most famous Pop's of the day.
I know for many of 'my generation' though, the sit-up-and-beg Ford Pop was to UK 'rodding' what the '32 Ford or Model A was to USA hot rodding.
Maybe I was already far to immersed in the USA car culture to be that interested in Ford Pop's?

Yeah the whole Rod thing really bypassed me, never had or owned one, been for a blast in a couple, i guess a Pop with a V6 and a 4 speed would be my choice, properly set up , would be fun ..................................................

Nearest one to it was a 36 Morris 8 that been a Rod for 40 odd years constantly evolving ,
Had a 305 which was plenty quick enough but the guy i sold it to fiited a 383 stroker,
That was followed by the "Salt Flat Racer" with the most severely chopped roof i've seen on a 105E Anglia or anything else for that matter,
Had a T bucket for a very short while, "MR T" but hated it ,Me and my son almost died when the open headers
spooked the horses and they stampeded right across the front of us in the New Forest .
We ended up in a ditch trying to avoid them. Nobody got hurt including the horses thank God.
Really only got eyes for the 32 or 34 now or maybe a 35/36 coupe ,here we go again

I'm 'lucky' that I've only got space for one, and one only, which concentrates the mind into a decision!
Like you, '32's & '34's are pretty much my main focus of interest, although I am very fond of the '39 as well (probably why there's a '39 dash going in my '32 - just to be different as there are more than enough '40 Ford dashes in '32's)

in the fire but nothing quite finished or not worked out the way you intended,
When i say 35/36 would have to be a replacement not as well as the 32's ,but somehow don't think that's going
to happen any time soon.

Yes only one garage is a limiting factor, but it dont stop ours minds wandering off !
with a bare bones Rod, a really good cover and it could live outside, thats why a started to look for a sound but tatty second car, but a years past and nothing of interest any where near my budget,
With the Challenger as done as a old car ever are, im getting twitchy again, been using the Dodge for work , which is a great way to start and finish the day, but i need another project!
I do admire the whole Pop / Hot Rod scene but never felt the real want to own one. There is a bunch of us, two clubs SPG and Petrolheads that own a real diverse collection of cars. Two real good mates, Mark owns a 632 CI Pop making 900hp without NOS that he has owned for over 25 years. He also has a 100E with a 572 CI with a two speed powerglide that ran 9.4 first time out. Plus a bunch of other wonderful stuff. Mk1 Zephyr, 55 Belair, 41 Willys and many more. 16 cars in all I think. Hus has a wonderful yellow 105E with a 454 CI motor. El Diablo he calls it.
Anyone going to Beaulie Sunday. Weather does not look great but we are going anyway

Never understand why people don't just put a small block Ford / 351 / sb Chevy in them.
Not the greatest colour either.
Perhaps the donor car was a scrapper but with a known engine/transmission combo - I'm sure that Pop's been around for a few years so perhaps the Masa assy was bought cheap? Not the greatest colour either.

Collecting it this weekend? My Firebird went in on Wednesday to start having some new bit and bobs fitted. I agreed with the garage that they'd do it bit by bit and when the weather's good, so that it's never left there overnight, and so it doesn't get driven in the wet (call me sad, I don't care... ) New anti roll bar links and bushes, and the very iffy brake flexi hoses changed. I picked the car up and drove back to my office, and the pedal was spongy, but I thought no matter, it's due to go back in next Wednesday for 'phase 2' of the de-crusting, they can sort it then.
Come 5 o'clock I get in to drive home, and the brake pedal goes right to the floor and I can only just stop. I crawl it back to the garage in rush hour and leave it with them. Pestered them yesterday, but they didn't get round to looking at it, apart from to say it's not leaking, so it must just need more bleeding. They're looking at it this morning, but whatever time they get it done, I'm now going to have to drive it home in the pissing rain. Miffed.

This popped up on my IG feed - I really like the stance and proportions. I'd paint it (prolly dark blue) if it was mine, but it ain't...
I like cars with the same size wheels too, but some suit big n littles.
Good looking Rod, I prefer a wider wheel on the rear with a dish, not to wide though otherwise with fenderless I like cars with the same size wheels too, but some suit big n littles.
cars they are inclined to dominate the rear end, but each to their own.

Your mate has a problem, but a nice one to have , 16 cars wow, he obviously doesn't sell anything just keeps adding,Anyone going to Beaulie Sunday. Weather does not look great but we are going anyway
Love those type of modified cars ,You can never have enough of to much unnecessary power ,you never know when
it will come in handy, must have a lot of storage and a understanding wife.
Going to give Beaulie a miss this year, managed to get weekend tickets for "Players Classic " at Goodwood,
More going on with the circuit in use and the most eclectic range of cars your ever likely to see with many coming from
all over Europe , Shame they clash this year but just thankful that they are both being held this year,
