Have you watched the recent Harry Garage video, with him going a paler shade of grey as he's mentally working out the large incoming bill, while looking at the very buggered bits of his Countach gearbox on the table at Iain Tyrrell's workshop
Serves him right for buying an ugly old piece of Italian junk

It looked a sorry mess after Mike hit that side of beef in SA though! They were lucky to get out of it.

Aero's quote--- Ugly piece of Italian junk,Serves him right for buying an ugly old piece of Italian junk
Granted the Counach is not a pretty car not in the same way a Dino is but ugly it is not
Still looks like it just landed from outer space even today.
Apart from getting married twice selling mine was by far my biggest regret in my life
and i've had many.
Probably have to sell most of my cars now to buy it back.

Oh it is...its a hideous looking thing. I have no interest in them whatsoever, might as well be a Lada as far as I'm concerned. Granted the Counach is not a pretty car not in the same way a Dino is but ugly it is not
Lambo peaked way too early with the Miura, and just went down hill with everything they did after that (Urraco perhaps excepting)

Nice to see the thread bouncing round with different classics but getting back to yanks eventually, Like it's twin the Maserati Kyalami for some reason the Longchamp never really jelled with me,
Maybe to boxy looking with the lack of Italian curves,
The Deville looks like a Italian XJ6 which is a compliment and just love those Pantera's especially
the GT5S , Purists seem to prefer the early slab sided cars saying the arches and wing spoilt the
original line. I say there both right horses for courses .

I've owned both ,infact i had 2 Lada's and the only thing they have in common is they both start with L,
Your a brave man,you know your going to get run over by P5BNij in his locomotive ,;)

Lovely......but needs to be put back onto a set of the original style alloys, as when Mike the Bike owned it rather than the wires.

Wonder if it will show up on HPI as Cat d,It looked a sorry mess after Mike hit that side of beef in SA though! They were lucky to get out of it.
Still on it's Italian plates i see ,
Got a set of Roma black and white plates in the garage , the front ones tiny
Took them off my daughters Beetle convertible that we imported from Italy
always wanted to fit them to a lhd Italian car to see how long we would get
away with dodging the speed cameras

As for the Countach being ugly, each to their own but to me the original concept in the LP500 prototype and the first 150 LP400s they built it is a work of genius. It got progressively more overdone with the wings and added on bits later on, especially on the 'anniversary' model, but Gandini's purity of line and subtle mix of wedge shapes and curves on the earlier cars somehow really works.
But....... yes, the Miura is the most beautiful car ever built . And to think, Gandini was just 27 when he designed the bodywork and his assistant who designed the Campagnolo alloys for it was just 20!

Must admit the Miura is a hard act to follow but comparing a Countach to a Lada ,

Maybe its because I grew out of any great interest in the latest superdooper gofaster supercar after I got past about age 14.....
After the Daytona era, I don't even need the fingers of one hand to count the list of such things that would be in my 'like to own'.
Certainly no Lambo or Ferrari etc after that.
Err............let me think.......
Circa 1980 Aston V8 Vantage
One of those run-out Porsche 964 Turbo S, and probably one of the retro Ford GT's from the early mid 2000's when they still looked like a GT40 and had a supercharged V8 and maybe an Alfa 8C if that's classified as a 'supercar'?
Honesty can't think of anything else post 1975 ish?
The whole super car stuff just passed me by
One needs to be wealthy end of,
Love some of the cars though,
At the other end of the spectrum I’ve just been up in the loft to gather the parts I’ve stored for the Dodge
As the new buyer was so keen on getting the car home he agreed to just come back and pick up the rest at a later point!
Surprising what I’ve accumulated!
Just want it gone now so will take it all to work till he collects it,
Currently at the regret stage!
Still ces’t la vie,

Sounds a tad melodramatic, i'l live! however knowing i'l never be able to rejoin is proving a harder thought than i thought!!
Having always worked on " no worries there be another along shortly" theory,
However thats no longer true......................................... the only way now would require a remortgage!
I really wish sometimes i could be happy just doing a bit of gardening or watching tele

Have to just make do with the new bang sticks instead.
We were at Bisley this morning, was very quite on the 300yrd range, never seen it that empty before, probably only a quarter of the firing points were being used, its normally at least 3/4's to fully booked!! I couldn't hit a barn door though with the 4T this morning, scored worse at 300yrds than I did with it at 600 yrds last time out
My mate bought a new toy along, a Zastava M21 straight-pull in 5.56.....
Bloody horrible trigger pull on it....typical eastern block rough as a badger's arse build quality

noooo Italian stuff does nowt for me, had a few 40 years ago, wobbly twin cams and generally a fragile feel,
Couldn't afford a nice Mk2 , but i do have a soft spot for them,

Not my thing.
I'll probably get rid of most of my vintage mil stuff in a few years time, and go down to one vintage milsurp and get a modern 5.56 for all the longer 200yrd plus shoots that we do........probably a Tikka T3X Tac.
The old stuff is gradually taking its toll of my ever decaying spine and my shoulder tendonitis, and it will be either give up altogether or accept getting something modern and kinder to my decaying body
