Put them on my Biturbo and see how it goes....
As for the Countach being ugly, each to their own but to me the original concept in the LP500 prototype and the first 150 LP400s they built it is a work of genius. It got progressively more overdone with the wings and added on bits later on, especially on the 'anniversary' model, but Gandini's purity of line and subtle mix of wedge shapes and curves on the earlier cars somehow really works.
But....... yes, the Miura is the most beautiful car ever built . And to think, Gandini was just 27 when he designed the bodywork and his assistant who designed the Campagnolo alloys for it was just 20!
Needs to be lhd to have a chance of getting away with it for any length of time,As for the Countach being ugly, each to their own but to me the original concept in the LP500 prototype and the first 150 LP400s they built it is a work of genius. I'll do it one day just to see how long i can get away with it,
With Ferrari GTO's at £75million somehow the Miura's seem a bargain at £1.5 million
and even more beautiful , Doesn't seem possible that a mate of mine couldn't sell his for £100K
around 20 years ago.

Maybe its because I grew out of any great interest in the latest superdooper gofaster supercar after I got past about age 14.....
After the Daytona era, I don't even need the fingers of one hand to count the list of such things that would be in my 'like to own'.
Certainly no Lambo or Ferrari etc after that.
Err............let me think.......
Circa 1980 Aston V8 Vantage
One of those run-out Porsche 964 Turbo S, and probably one of the retro Ford GT's from the early mid 2000's when they still looked like a GT40 and had a supercharged V8 and maybe an Alfa 8C if that's classified as a 'supercar'?
Honesty can't think of anything else post 1975 ish?
of them ,moments i will never forget even though the 275 was a short drive in Central London.
Although never owning a Vantage i had a Oscar India Aston ,thought it a bit of a tank
but huge presents and unlike Ferrari's people are nice to you ,must be something about it being the
quintessential Britrsh supercar and of cause the James Bond connection .
Would kill to own one of those Superperformance GT40 prpbably over one of those supercharged factory
cars, only because of the correct dimensions although wouldn't say no to the 2005 model,
Only had experiences with the pre 964 Turbo's ,nick named the widow maker rightly so.
had two ,the first one which i wrote off, still not sure what went wrong probably me running out of talent.
never driven a 946 version but no super car needs to be bigger than these.
How Alfa make the 8C and Maserati Gran Turismo sound so good but the 430 Ferrari so crap i'll never know all using
the same engine , 430 needs a stage 3 Capristo exhaust ,de-cat and headers to make them sound as good as the other two.

Currently at the regret stage!
Sounds a tad melodramatic, i'l live! however knowing i'l never be able to rejoin is proving a harder thought than i thought!!
Having always worked on " no worries there be another along shortly" theory,
However thats no longer true......................................... the only way now would require a remortgage!
I really wish sometimes i could be happy just doing a bit of gardening or watching tele
Have cancelled selling cars for the same reason being fully aware of what i will be going through
once the realisation hits home that the car in question has actually gone and not coming back just
like you are feeling now ,A little strong perhaps but i would liken it to a bereavement with disbelief that i actually
went through with it and sold it, My Countach and bullnose T/A are just two that comes to mind..
For me it never goes away just easier to live with.

Yep the Tikka’s are very hard to beat at the price point
I’ve a 308 Arctic , absolutely love it , run it using its irons out to 300 , and scope it for 400 and out
I could have sold it over and over ,
Aah.....well, AI, now you're talking I’ve a 308 Arctic , absolutely love it , run it using its irons out to 300 , and scope it for 400 and out
I could have sold it over and over ,
With the value of a numbers matching 4T complete with transit chest and accessories etc., and a K98k sniper clone, selling those two could easily fund a brand new 308 AI with a S&B optic etc........but, I'll likely be doing this just before retirement or around the same time, so cashing in on the 5 figure value of the 4T and K98 sniper clone to use the funds for something less toy related would be the more likely scenario....hence the likely Tikka in 5.56...........much in the same way why you've sold the R/T.
You can't take all these material things with you, so its just about picking the right time to pass them onto the next temporary custodian.

No not an AW accuracy International,
I’ve got a AX in 308 ,
Sold the 115A3 awhile ago,
No I’m talking a Tikka Arctic , mines one of the few Tikka build that’s the same spec as the Rifle they supplied the Canadian Rangers to replace the Enfield ,
It’s supplied with fabulous irons and a scope rail
I love it !
If I could have just one rifle it would be this !

Yep been here a few times ,
It’s cool once the other stuff has gone I’ll write a line under it,
It’s been a blast , and it will be nice to get my misses something nicer to use ,
The roads are rammed around here now so that’s helping!
Plus there’s weeks of planned road closures coming up,
And I’m thinking of the gas money I’m already saving!
Only been gone a week and I’m 80 quid up !
Result
72 Gran Torino ending today, currently at £12k reserve met. Not mint and the interior is several shades of green, none of them especially fetching , but looks solid and could be pretty cheap!

Could bring out your inner Clint Eastwood (Get off my lawn!). If you haven't seen the film, you should, it's great.

You done the right thing for the right reasons.
I did the same ,The T/A went to the HMRC to get them off my back .
The Countach financed a number of things , mainly ticking more box's on my car bucket list,
Helped my kids out buying their first properties with still one to go and my well overdue house ungrades ,
Me i'd live in a tent with the Countach under a cover along side it to have it back
Yes aero i know what you are thinking
It covered a lot of areas at the time so did the right thing just trying to convince myself of that now,
As you said why can't we be interested in gardening or stamp collecting,

Looks a lotta car for that money and it's not just another Mustang.

Interesting that someone ticked the option box and spec'd a/c.....although that little 2v 302 will struggle to pull that along (especially when a/c on on) - get shot of those nasty chrome wheels for stock wheeltrims and it'll be a nice car to smoke about in.
Agree those wheels got to go newsatten said:

I should have as I remember reading up about the Canook Rangers new rifle to replace their No.4's.
So you have a AI AX as well......
I've seen lots of glowing reports about the Lithgow LA105 Woomera as well, which is still a lot less than an AI but more than a Tikka T3X tac.
I'd probably go with the Tikka though to drop down to 5.56.

Finished at £15250, not bad at all for that money. rat rod said:

Yes aero i know what you are thinking
Growing up in the 70s/80s, the Countach was my dream car, still is. In 5000QV flavour please. This poster was on my bedroom wall as a teenager, I remember buying it out of Woolies. Aero will not approve. Yes aero i know what you are thinking
