Ambitious pricing.....as nearly 10k more than that ex-Paul Tuthil '66 GTO that was sold at auction the other week........which was a much, much better car.
But, if you don't ask you don't get.

Did you see the extra heavy duty, extra thick raincoat Pootin was wearing at the parade yesterday - must have been wearing two sets of body armour under it laugh

Me thinks he doesn't trust those around him, on his rare outings from the Fuhrerbunker buried in the Ural mountains.

The Judge is such a over priced GTO trading on it's title ,

Not much more than a normal 69 GTO with graphics as far as i can see.

I owned a rather tatty one some years ago ,like a fool i turned down a nice Challenger R/T

(newsattens R/T when it was Plumb Crazy i believe )

in favour of the average Judge that in standard GTO spec isn't that great a car or valueable either ,

aero is right the blue GTO from "The Market" auction was a proper GTO in what i could see looked

perfect with celebrity provenance, After saying all that someone will get draw in like i was.rolleyes

I've put the Vette on Car and Classic classified once more at £35K - I'll see if the changing season will create interest. I was kinda tempted to give potential buyers the option to buy with stock engine only (albeit at a reduced price) but its a bit of a can of worms really - I'd effectively be selling the car as a roller with engine on frame and could get stuck with an engine........ Don't really feel up to swapping engines around without a firm offer. Finding these days I'm burned-out. Just getting over a mild case of septis after getting cut out in the garden. Have to say like Newsatten perhaps the time is right to stop.......

Yes Rosco saw the Vette this morning, if theres any sense left in the world it should be a done deal,

A full spec monster muscle car with a monster spec and serious HP.................. and maybe thats part of the problem?
Makes me wonder if our new breed of buyers fed on Sh-- like Gas Monkey, grave yard cars etc, only really want show boating cars,
my buyer made a comment today , " i really like the Dodge but it dont drive like my Rang Rover Sport" banghead

He's never had yanks before so to a degree i can understand and he's looking forward to getting with the groove, i thought he was going to be hands on, but he told me fitting the front poly bush kit i gave him was way beyond his capabilities, lol

Im guessing he'l get a full Hochtkiss suspension fitted, he's obviously not poor!

Nice sentiment Helly but the stark reality to us of advancing years and very limited funds is we can no longer do the work on the cars we used to, and cant afford to pay someone to do said work, take Rosco, barreling towards 70, feeling a bit sh-- and being faced with the prospect of getting that 700 lb monster out of that very small hole a vette has!

Nuff said,

Me ive always done the Bus Man's Holiday thing, work on the turds all day then work on my own car ! @ 40 i could do it no trouble, at almost 66 no F---ing chance! rofl

RR Quote

If your poor you will not be able to afford a yank worth having especially as a second or third car,

Shame the guy who bought your R/T is a first time buyer comparing it to a RR Sport,

A seasoned yank buyer would appreciate the way it drives more comparing more to past yanks they've previously owned.

Yanks are ending up being driven by the upper crust just like VW buses are now thinking driving them gives them instant coolness

,Wish they would stick to their 2022 Volvo estates after saying that quite like some of the older Volvo 's i'm seen at the shows scratchchin

A little older than 70 Newsatten (72 a couple of weeks ago). I just finished grooming Treacle, our rather large black standard Poodle (who hates being clipped). Generally do it three time a year and it takes me two/three consecutive days to complete the job - first day body, face, tail and rear end. Second day his legs. Third day shampoo and 'scissoring' any 'high spots' and loose ends. Thing is it really shags my back for several days so will need to rest-up for a few days now. 'Pulling' an engine now would incapacitate me for at least a week afterwards.
And yes, that very engine is I'm sure is holding things back. Reality is (and much like Newsattens buyer) most UK Corvette buyers are actually new to Corvettes and American cars in general. As with Newsattens buyer most don't have a clue about the cars and certainly won't have the typical 40 or 50 years on/off experience with Yanks that most of us on here share. The 'mindset' we're dealing with here is that these buyers are often staggered by the performance of a mid 70's emission era 180 hp Corvette. They'll actually believe that they are driving the ultimate performance car and won't have any conception how much quicker a car can be (and don't even 'stretch' thier own cars)..........so won't be interested. It kinda worries me letting someone like that loose in a car like mine - we've all seen where these things can so easily get out of control.

Mine was very much a slouch ,wouldn't pull your foreskin back but was a tired old girl ,

Should have bought your R/T instead which would have been strange now as you probably

would have ended up buying it off me ,having sold my 70 383 R/T with a pocket full of money

i went to see both of them on the same day demermined to come back with something muscle.yes

We’ll yes this is another issue as far as so called Muscle cars are concerned,
Even the quick ones are slow when compared to today’s motors,

But that’s always been the case , I pointed that out to my man , comparing the Dodge to his daily was like comparing
The Dodge with a Model T, as the time between them is similar!
Things more on.

However we know all the short come ins of old yanks
I had them most of my life Simply because they were the best bang for one buck !! End of,
And used mine as my daily.

See Mr Birds 455 TA is at auction now
It should make ok cash as it’s a pretty rare thing
Once again most of the newbies don’t really know it’s a TA
As it’s not like a bandit !
In fact a guy at work when I showed him a pic said Umm
Looks like a Bandit but with the wrong front !
Ffs……

This makes me wonder whether he'll gell with it then at some point decide that it's not for him and he moves it on again.... who knows? From your earlier post about him picking it up he seemed dead keen.

Joking aside I hope he enjoys it for what it is wink

laugh Cruel.

He'll get used to it, it's bound to be a surprise if you're only used to modern stuff. Mine handles, steers, stops and rides like crap, but I expected no less!

First local classic meet of the year last night where the weather was dry. Huge turnout, probably 150 cars and all sorts of stuff, from a K series powered Moggy Traveller to a, erm, Dalek. biggrin

wink
