I'm looking forward to page 427 personally.
Funnily enough, you can buy a 427 Chev crate engine that weighs the same as the 350 in my Impala:

Not sure where you get that idea from, even with ally heads and intake manifold, its a big-block and still going to be well over a100lbs or so heavier than a 350 SBC with iron heads and cast-iron manifold.Funnily enough, you can buy a 427 Chev crate engine that weighs the same as the 350 in my Impala:

Iron block, iron head, iron manifold SBC weighs about 520lbs, an SBC with ally heads and manifold is about 475lbs.
A BBC with ally heads and manifold weighs about 650lbs, compared to an all iron BBC which comes in at around 750lbs.
One of the all ally LS small block motors weighs in at around 390lbs.....!

Also, it says it on google, so it must be true:
It would be ok if it was heavier, the front of my impala sits a little high anyway.

But none had a 440 or Hemi installed - almost earlier ones were small capacity and later a mix of 383 and 400 I believe unless you mention the Fighter with its V10.aeropilot said:

Big block Chevy when fitted out with ally accessories, so inlet manifold and water pump and importantly ally heads is approximately 100lbs heavier than iron headed small block Chevy. Substitute the iron BBC block for a Dart or Brodix ally block and you are looking at the same weight as a SBC engine (but iron headed once more!). Iron block, iron head, iron manifold SBC weighs about 520lbs, an SBC with ally heads and manifold is about 475lbs.

OK fella's here's a story for you all. You've all been following the Mecum auctions? yes/no? - and seen the '71 ZR2 Vettes that didn't sell (at just under a million $'s) only 2 of these were produced. https://www.mecum.com/lots/SC0522-503132/1971-chev...
One of the supposed 12 no. built ZR2 coupes has come out of the woodwork in the UK. Take a look at the Classic Corvette Club UK forum thread

Would need to go back to the States to get the big money i assume ,
Spur Classics have been around as long as i can remember,
They got a Lamborghini Miura in their collection ,had it for years ,
Who would have thought having the foresight to keep these rare cars will make you a millionair .

Follow the link to the CCCUK website and you'll see that images of the Muira and Countach from the collection have been posted.
Didn't see the second page rosco, must be nice to add to a collection without having to sell what you already got then watch it grow in value while at the same time enjoying them.
More fun than buying houses or stocks and shares
I don't know anything about stocks and share and house prices lol.
I just know I like Mopars!
Yes, the days of cheap Mopars has gone...
Folks ask me why I don't like the Chev's and Fords?
I have owned Mopars for 40 years and there is still many left to own lol...
Didn't have the time and money to get into 'other makes'?
Just read and article on the 409 engine 62-63, my favourite (pre 426 hemi) era!
440 cube 'W-series' Chev engines before Mother Mopar had theirs...
Those were the start of the real drag wars and I would just love to go 'back there' for a year or two...
Just watched Star Trek 'Generations' for the hundreth time lol.
they were in the 'Nexus' (permanent heaven) and could pick anytime to return to reality...
1962 for me lol...
Lions dragway...

Yep, that '61-64 era is for me too, the prime era. (Mind you I'd be happy for my personal Tardis to take me back to SoCal for any year between 1955 and 1964 )440 cube 'W-series' Chev engines before Mother Mopar had theirs...

Factory Chevy 409's vs Pontiac SD421's vs Ford 427FE vs Mopar Max Wedge Superstock 413's & 426, plus a few people still running Buick Nailheads and Olds J2's further down the order.
