I bought some 440 engine parts off a guy up near the Pod.

He was building an identical 512ci engine for his Jensen Interceptor!
We took him out for a spin in the 512ci Polara and he wasn't that excited?

Guess he thought it would be MUCH faster lol...

His only mistake was using flat top pistons which we tried back ten years ago...
The compression was around 12 to one and it just wouldn't run on pump gas!

The piston skirts were all badly scored and worn after only 1000 miles.
This engine had dished 24cc pistons and ran nice on SUPER...[url]

Mother Mopar and Weslake Engineering in Kent UK, were doing these types of heads back in the sixties!

Only one pair ever made with the 'exotic chamber' and never reproduced.

Looking very similar with these 'new' Chevrolet 'pro stock' heads lol...

There is only so much you can do with an 'air-pump' as most folks call engines now lol...

Ovalport intake and D-port exhausts.

Never rated back then and now they make 1000 horsepower...

Ever get that feeling that you are trying to hard and no matter what you do

it will never go right until it's ready to confused

Another frustrating day in Dodge city, After Sundays mess up with the Camino

the week seems like it's going to continue in the same vein, Lost my keys to the

Lexus ,used them to get into the car went to drive off but no keys ,didn't go anywhere

only the drivers seat ,looked out side the car just incase i dropped them before getting in,

Had the interior to pieces but no keys ,they have to be in there but there not, not spare ones

but not the point, now very late now, rolleyes

Buyer for 430 promised payment over weekend as now over 14 days since car sold that being 7 days

overdue to his buying contract, another visit to the bank ,more emails sent to CC and the buyer, grumpy

Car still advertised so lf i get another buyer how do i stand , underbidder was local and hopefully would

have paid and collected it by now.

While in the mood get intouch with the seller of the T/bird to see any sign of the V5,

Mobile switched off, office phone ringing but no answer, left message at his other branch but as yet not got

back to me and that was yesterday, The car was taken as a bad debt after being kept as security so not dealing

with the registered keeper which seems to be a problem when the seller applied on line for the V5,

To make matters worse, the guy so faltered on the loan did not register the car either still having the keepers name

from the guy he bought it from still. are you still with me .There is no V5 just a very good coloured copy which is worthless.

The seller says he didn't realise that it wasn't the original V5 and only discovered this when i viewed the T/B,

He was trying his luck hoping i would pay for the car and apply for the V5 myself, when i asked him if DVLA refused me the V5

he said he would hive me a refund nono Think we are in our 7th week with this , Along with other day to day problems we all

have to deal with it's now getting on top of me,All i want to do is sell a car and buy one ,how hard can it be for fks sake.

Sorry guys to burden you with this Dear March post but sometimes a outside opinion helps a fuzzy brain ,hence losing keys , leaving

the house and garage unlocked and not setting the alarm is not just me being forgetful and the fact i am now 70,confused

If payment for 430 is not made by the end of today i am going to cancel the deal if i can,now very fed up with the buyer but he is

a lawyer so will have to tread carefully but what to do about the T/B is another matter still want the car but alarm bells are ringing

which i find hard to ignore, not sure now does the seller have the right to sell , Any thoughts scratchchin

Weslake we’re up near Erith I believe
My Mate Mick had his Ram Air 111 done there
Full blue print, major head work blah blah ,
The thing was epic, it started my journey!
Shame there Just memories now,
As all these things will be shortly,

I’ve personally never owned a truly powerful yank,
Not my thing, far more interested in using them as cars for normal daily use, and never had enough cash to build one even if I’d wanted! Lol

You need to run away pronto from that T-Bird deal mate, that's got all sorts of legal problems written in large letters all over it eek

Thank goodness you refused to do the V5 app yourself, you'd be a world of poo now if you hadn't done that.

Walk away.....sort the Lexus keys out and re-advertise the 430, as that guy is clearly never going to come up with the balance to pay for it.

Nightmare......

Reminds me of an 'impossible' situation some 30+ years ago when we were selling our last gaff (to buy the one we're in now). Sometimes your own hopes and ill concieved optimism just gets badly in the way of reality.
This was at time (not unlike now) where a financial melt-down was looming and was probably already present but ignored by everyone. When it fully hit so many people were badly f*c*ed, loosing jobs, houses, everything in fact.
Estate agent seeling our propery was to blame. Allowed a couple in their late 50's/early 60's view our property, fall in love with it, and place a deposit.
We were waiting for this couple to 'complete' on the purchase of our property. The one we wanted (the one we are in now) was vacant posession - we simply needed the postman and flower seller to get their mortgage and complete the purchase. 'Postman and flower seller' is the key........things were draggin on for weeks and weeks with no sign of movement, yes the couple still wanted our place.........."it would be all sorted soon"...........we were all optimistic..........sometimes things are so obvious 'you can't see them for looking' (as my long departed dad would say).
My missus did some checking locally relating to the couple supposedly buying and she found out that the woman worked in a local flower shop (didn't own the business) her partner/husband was a postman. Er' indoors cut through the usual understanding of all contact we made through the estate agent and phoned the couple directly, took them off-guard perhaps by asking the question "how are you funding the purchase of our place"? - it transpires that they didn't have a huge lump of cash from an inheritance or savings and were waiting for a mortgage for the whole amount (less a 5% deposit). Realising that there wasn't a chance on the world that they could possible get a morgage large enough to buy our property we immediately 'threw them out' and put it back on the market.
Moral of the story is............'dreamers'/charlatons and affable con-men can appear so enthusiastic and convincing that you are encouraged to go along with them when in the back of your brain you know something isn't right. It often happens when, perhaps you are dreaming yourself and hoping the sale will all go perfectly well and how good it is to have a buyer when the economic climate is looking a little shaky.........at these times one needs to stand outside yourself and the situation - look at things as a stranger would for your answers............

434 turned into a 'bonkers page' indeed!

We all have bad days 'like these' and I left the keys to all my cars (in a bunch) on the roof of the wife's car once.
It was on a huge fob so as not to lose them lol...

But I drove off with them on the roof of her car and heard them slide off on a corner!
But it was a country road, by a busy turning so by the time I stopped I had no idea where they went?

It was months of grief and expense that I could have done without...

Buying and selling cars, houses and toy trains is fraught with danger...
Expectations are always over-high with buyers and once they buy, then it can get Fugly indeed!

Oh well, ''that's life'' they say, but my new saying is, ''less is more''...

Now if I buy a packet of seeds for the bees and butterflies and they don't work, I don't get all phsyco.
I buy another packet off Ebay for £1.50 delivered and try again...lol...

Better luck tomorrow guys , I feel your pain!

absolutely.
RR Collecting Cars need to tell you where you stand legally with regard to non payment. They must have an agreed contract term for payment. But you need to be careful as the chap is a lawyer. Do not need any more headaches.
The Bird sounds like another PITA.
