The last T-Bird probably wasn't really the success Ford had hoped (they wouldn't have dropped it otherwise)..........but, it's such an evocative nameplate I'd love to see them try again. This time though, I'd prefer them to emulate the slightly later models from around '63/'64, rather than the late '50s.

I'm thinking something along the lines of these two mixed together

Yes. I didn't like the girly Mk 1 thunderbird but love both of those. We need more style in the modern blob jungle.

Would be nice if Ford decided to spin it off the Mustang platform.....but price it a bit higher, add all the toys, maybe give it a little more "perceived" quality. Keep the numbers low and the image up. The Mk1 just didn't try hard enough. I'm still glad they did try though.

Still, unless it'd make good profits, I can't see it happening

I agree we really need more stand-out designs on our roads which is why I can't wait to see more Mustangs, Camaros and Challengers over here.

shout C'mon Ford, give us a new Thunderbird.

BTW, that's got to be just about the best name for any car

I liked the looks of the last version of the Thunderbird, although it was a bit of a chick car (my mom has driven T-birds for 20yrs). Unfortunately, it was horribly overpriced for what it was. And there was no option for a manual tramission.

The photochop above is pretty nice looking. Can you make it a Super Coupe?

The bottom one is the 2001 Ford 49 concept. It looks as good today as it did back then.

They really should have built it yes

Seems a bit boring once you get past the front end.

I will say one thing for the T-bird, the low coefficient of drag and the 3.8L V6 combined to make a car that cruised effortlessly at 90-100mph on the interstate.
