Had my renewal land on the doormat the other day. £550 which is about the same as last year. Not too bad I thought as the car is also insured for business use. Have used Adrian Flux since I bought the car three years ago.

Normally I can't be bothered but this time I decided to obtain a second quote from APlan who do my Professional Indemnity Insurance. They were about £120 cheaper. Spoke again to Adrian Flux to say that I had had a cheaper quote and would get back to them once I had read A Plan's small print. They immediately nocked £130 off their original quote.

Does anyone have any thoughts as to the best way to go? On the one hand AF are now cheaper and there is less hassle than changing. On the other hand I liked APs immediate competitive quote.

Stay with your existing - if you have to claim then having established business with a broker will make them more inclined to help you, a new cheap friend may just look the other way.

It never ceases to amaze how insurance companies sometimes manage to knock huge proportion of your premium. I always shop around each year and whilst Adrian Flux are good, I usually end up going with MCE who will almost always match any other quote.

If I were you I'd get off Adrian Flux even if they are cheaper, there are plenty of horror stories with them.

My brother had the misfortune to use them, and when he had to claim they basically couldn't care less. Getting money out of them is like getting blood out of a stone (IMO)
