Can anyone give me an idea on how to import a vehicle by myself and not by paying a company to do it for me by chargeing excessive prices. I know you have to pay 10% shipping costs, 10% on the vehicle and then VAT when it arrives in the country. Can someone who has acctually done it give me some advice please.
Ken.

i have used this company on a lot of occasions superb service and reasonable prices, they can collect from the owner and deliver to the port dealing with all the us paperwork, you can then use Wallenius in the UK (southampton and bristol) for customs clearance they will also deliver to your door for a fee after all duties are paid

Ken - whatever you do, do not use a company called Neptune or Schumacher. They are absolutely useless - appalling communication, misinformation and will also ruin your car in transit to boot.
