Can anyone recommend a reputable company to entrust my new F150 truck with.
After just 500 miles, it has a hole in the block and I need to get the engine out and replaced under warranty.

Would be good if the company were based in East Anglia or Midlands but not essential.

Cheers

Not East Anglia but Newport Imports (North Kent) maybe able to help - I know they used to do quite a few American trucks

Hi Kev all the best for 2008.

Mildenhall for the work. ask for John.
JDM for the Built 3V Longblock & JDM spec cams

Then you might be a contender for the Rebel 4 door crown in 2008.

Ohhh watch out there goes the neighbour hood....

Ricki the moderators must be slacking if they let you into PH.....:biglaugh

Anyways. Guys, if ya after the quickest Ford F150 Lightning in the UK then look no further than Ricki........A fountain of information that will make your truck loads quicker.

Ricki, hope my luck is better in the start of 2008 than it was at the end of 2007 buddy.

John at Mildenhall is getting the truck on the 15th so we will have to wait until then for the result...

Good to have ya on PH mate.

I am well looking forward to the Rebel test and tune day in March.

Hopefully you will be dialed in by then.
We can always set up a Dyno session and I will bring me laptop
so it can be done online.

If you get the built motor option then you can up the boost and swap out your regular gas for some C16
I am hoping to Dyno end of Feb or beginning of March.
700 RWHP is looking good and a low 10 sec pass will be nice.
All motor.

Remember it's running 11's on the high output street tune.

If I can help liase with JDM let me know or If can help with the shipping
as the company I use are very reliable.

Was looking forward to a Norwich-Yaarrmouth road trip today but looks like I got damm cold / flu type bug on it's way.
Back to work Monday so I need to be 110% for that.
Rugby on Sunday with a game against Leicester so I need to be clear for that
as the beer intake will be good too.....

CU soon M8

Ok, The truck is now at Mildenhall Autos and they are removing the engine for further investigation. John there is a very helpful guy.

Fingers crossed the warranty company will be out Friday and they should authorise a new engine.

Fingers crossed be back on the road again mid Feb....

Nothing major then smile

New engine for sure there. What happened? Hydrolock? Did you get water in it?

No water. The engine was only 528 miles old...in a brand new F150 Harley Davidson truck.

Apparently, Ford have had issues with some engines having excess crank end play but not sure if thats what caused this. Could just be compontent failure.

Luckily the Uk warranty will cover it and they are going to inspect the motor tomorrow and then fingers crossed tick off for a new motor...

Did you import it straight from the states, or bought it over here?

Hopefully you will be able to save a few of those pieces to hang on the wall in the garage! Well done!

Craig,

Hell yeah....some of those pieces will be made into trophies for some drag meets a few of my buddies meet up at.....cant waste that little lot.

Then again it would have given me more beer drinking qudos if I could say the engine detonated whilst making a record breaking 1/4 mile run against a Lambo or something...LOL instead it went and broke whilst travelling at 25mph..frown

Time for a rebuild....bigger, badder and better me thinks
