I had a 96 z28 for about 3 years as a daily driver. I sold it about 3 years ago.
I then had a 540 for a bit. dull dull DULL DULL. How can a 4litre engine be so gutless? Maybe the 4.4 was better?

Last month I bought a 97 camaro z28 SS. Personally I don't think there is another car with its price range to compare. Max torque (300 odd lbft) is at 2400 rmp. Squeaze the throttle and feel the rumble.

Personally I went for the last of the LT1 engines, rather then the LS1. I think the later front end treatment is a dog dinner and the LT1 is a more robust motor and has less £ potential long term.

Personally speaking i'd avoid the T-tops - the wind turblence is horrile with them out and the non-T is much more rigid.

Its fast, raw , over-steery and more fun than any other car I have owned (including caterham 7, TVR, BMW 3,5 & 7 Series)

Keep the speed below 80 on the motorway and you should get 30mpg.
