Dodge Charger (new shape)

only ask as they've been out in the states for a few years and i still havent seen one on the streets over here

I've seen a couple in Central/west London, (may have been test drives?) in the last 6 months. they look nice, but too 300C 'ish with a Dodge Ram truck front though.

I've bought one with Hemi engine but its not here for a few weeks,let you know what its like when it gets here.

nice Clive, what colour did you get, RT Daytona i take it?
to keep to sell? (i know Andrew with the red SRT Ram is after one)

we test drived a Daytona in Florida last April, quite a cool car and good value i thought with lots of upgrades available, it had a fuel saving device that shut part of the engine down while cruising

The one I bought is a police interceptor so its white, got it to have a bit of fun in over the summer,track days and that sort of thing. Not so sure about driving it about with the prisoner cage still in it!

Back in late October I saw a Lime Green Charger R/T driving through Denham in Bucks......got quite a shock

I'd only been back from a trip to the US where I had a base Charger hire car.....hated the interior, was sooooo basic and cheap and plasticiky.....

Was quite nice to drive though.......V6 engine was gutless though.

Can't comment on the V8 but likewise just came back from Florida with a 3.5 V6 Charger. Yes, the interior is direly plastic all over. The 3.5 V6 in auto form won't rev. You rev it and it takes forever to come back down (5000 on the clock). If you floored it and came off the gas, it seemed to take forever for the revs to drop and find the right gear. The auto box was a bit fluffy with slight judder. The handling was very soft.

The conclusion was that it felt and drove like an old Mercedes which is, of course, what it is. It is very quiet and very wafty and very relaxing to drive. the steering is good but it comes on balloony 215/65 tyres (I notice a lot of US-spec European cars are also fitted with balloon tyres and higher suspension)and the foot-operated "handbrake" really got on my nerves. At the rigght price, it's a good alternative to an old RWD Granada but don't expect too much.

Didn't like the white dials either...

I imagine the V8 would have a pretty hefty flywheel as well.

looks great !!! will make an interesting track car when sorted
though you need to sort the reverse/foglight

The thing on top of the drivers door mirror is a search light and the reverse/fog lamp were fitted for the sva and yes they look crap! do you know where I can get some decent looking one's? Cheers!
