I can't recall ever hearing of anyone using Hertz.
Why would they? - it's only the biggest car rental company in the world, after all. Hertz rent more cars to tourists flying into OIA than Alamo, Dollar and Enterprise put together.UK tour operators generally use Dollar or Alamo. Even when people make their own arrangements (as I do) they tend to stick with what they know. We're hiring a 7 seater SUV for under £300 in couple of weeks from Alamo. Same thing with Hertz is £480.
Not sure why, but we seem to have got into some kind of pissing match here. That wasn't my intention.
The OP asked if Rental companies took drivers endorsement records into account. You said no - based upon your experience (presumably) and what's discussed on a Disney vacation forum.
I just thought it might be useful to let the OP know that your information is not entirely correct and the fact that you come here for vacation doesn't (necessarily) make you an authority on how US car rental corporations operate. The companies you refer to are OK, but they are st-kickers, compared to Hertz, Avis, Budget and Enterprise. The biggies give choice, flexibility, faster customer turnaround and less dicking-around (and spurious charging, for that matter) when you take the car back.
The great thing about all of this is the choice factor. Personally, I prefer the peace of mind of a substantial organization that is going to always deliver on it's promise (vehicle availability, out of hours pick-up/drop-off, one way rental that doesn't take the piss, price-wise etc. etc).
My personal experiences with Dollar and Alamo have been a bit disappointing - but I guess that's the trade-off for trying to save a few quid.

(Auto theft, DUI, Reckless Endangerment etc)
Nothing to worry about with any of that - unless your disqualification was for something horrible. I'm guessing that a less than 2 month ban would not be severe enough for anything really serious - so don't sweat it.
If you still have the speeding bug, take care here. Local cops don't discriminate between tourists and crackers. Additionally driving standards over here are so bloody abysmal that you have to slow it down a bit to avoid being run into the ditch by some blue haired granny in a two ton Buick
