Hiya

Got an SVA query that the FAQs on the DVLA site don't cover...

I have an option on an 80's car imported from the 'States a few years back - it has never been registered here, although the relevent duty has (apparently) been paid.

The DVLA site makes reference SVA requirements and to imports under 10 year old, but doesn't make it clear whether or not SVA is required for an import over 10 years old.

Anyone already jumped through this hoop and know the answer?

TIA

No SVA needed. Car can be registered as is.

Cool - that was my recollection, but it's been a long time since I've looked at this. Will approach DVLA from that prospective. Next week. After the strike.

Car is 22 years old, BTW.

Finally found the reference - it's on the Department for Transport site, rather than DVLA...
