I never found a proper UK one.. loads of other yank car clubs, (mostly populated by bearded middle aged cowboy-hat-wearing brummies....)

Join one of the many US forums, and stick with the cool kids here...

When I 1st got mine, joined the 'Classic Camaro Club'. They were lumped in with a few other clubs that shared a 'regular' magazine.

Only magazine I recieved in a year, was an out of date one that came with the membership form, website was shocking with reviews of meets you didn't have prior knowledge of and club discount insurance that was twice as expensive as I had already.... rolleyes

As you're in Portsmouth, The Solent Renegades are a friendly bunch or if you like pickups, drag racing and casual bigotry, could try Revel V8 hehe

Oi....nothing wrong with Rebel-V8.......hehe That was one of the reasons for Rebel-V8.com being started. It was born due to the fact a few of the orignal non members' didnt get on with the other more 'normal' US car forums...although there are a few guys who own very fast pickups (low 10 sec 1/4 mile) in the Uk on there, we have no guidelines except that you come on and post up no matter what you own....

There are a few American forums and they tend to be good for shows and particular issues with certain cars. Its more of a matter as to whether you get anything from them, as a forum is only as good as the people who post.....

Oh and we have probably the best smilies ont t'internet.....

It always amazed me that there was never a Camaro Owner's Club given that it was immensely popular in the 90's. Like many, I gave up the social beard'n'barbeque set as it wasn't really my thing and it never ceases to puzzle me why everyone should like ALL American vehicles any more than a Jag owner should like to associate with Marina and Allegro owners. I used to use www.LS1.com and www.LS1Tech.com and there is also a German websit for US army personnel called F-BodyEurope.

There are at least two websites for Mustangs.

The Classic Camaro Club has always seemed pretty inactive to me. I would've joined ages ago, but there never seems to be anything going on there apart from the odd post on the forum which I will bet is mainly contributed to by non-members of the club.

I've talked to quite a few Camaro owners over the last year or so, and quite a few have been looking for a club and didn't know anything about the above mentioned club, or like me just disregarded it due to its obvious lack of real meaningful activity. I mentioned to a few of the guys I've met and some firebird owners too that I may consider getting together a UK F-body club if there is enough interest as obviously the Camaro/Firebird have so much in common, especially the later ones.

So if anyone fancies being a founder member of something along these lines, I'd be more than happy to put in the time and effort to get the ball rolling, so just get in touch and we can assess how much possible interest there would be.

Might be worth contacting Ozza on www.s197.co.uk who set up a new website for the 2005-on S197 Mustang and very successful it is too. Might be able to give you some pointers on hosts and websites. Once they start importing the new Camaro, it could be very popular.

Cheers guys, sounds like not much hope!! Funny as i joined the pontiac club & they seem good, thought i was geting a pontiac, but this camaro came up & they sound the same, is there much diffrence??
I will post some pics but it is a 93 Z28 auto, it has had a lot spent on engine running gear, upgraded cams, injectors, ecu. The guy i got it off had a proper race car & him & his dad done some work on car , he has used as daily driver for a year, so totally reliabel (which i wanted!!) 350 bhp, stainlees exhaust, special xlp headers, (sounds awsome!!)
I am going to paint it ,(it is a funny blue, dont know if i change colour will i de-value car??)
Will do some pics later!

12.4 is quick.
Don't paint the car, it will generally devalue it and all of the car panels are plastic except the bonnet and rear wings.
The Camaro and Firebird are exactly the same underneath but they have different dash layouts. Firebird was the more upmarket so often featured leather seats as standard. In fact, the Camaros they sold in the UK from 1998-20000 used the Firebird leather seats, not the flatter Camaro seats so are unique.

To post pics, upload your photos to an account at www.photobucket.com or similar and link them here using [ i m g ](without spaces) at the front of the URL and [ / i m g ] (without spaces) at the end of the URL.
