Bought on a whim a couple months ago for £250 or so, find I wear it more often than my other pricier pieces.
I love these, I'll be pouncing on one soon I think. I like the blue, and I don't have a blue face watch at present, but I also like the black(?)/gold one which appears sometimes. I could end up with two….Edited by CAPP0 on Wednesday 27th September 21:59
About £300 all in.

Ah yes, I saw that on TZ. Looks lovely.I've only just started wearing a watch after 20 or so years without one. I saw a titanium seiko in a jewelers and just had to have it. I now spend my time looking at threads like this
Some really interesting additional mods linked in this article:
https://www.wired.com/2014/09/seiko-model-5-hackin...
Saw this thread a few weeks ago and thought what's the harm, i'll put mine on!
I bought it new in 2001 from H. Samuel, Ipswich, after seeing it in the window for over a year. I just remember it standing out among a sea of gold faces and thinking 'that looks cool'. I'm a bit older now, but I love it today as much as I did then, if not more so. It has seen weddings, funerals, break-ups, tears and laughter. It has been lost twice and found by a police sniffer dog. Long story.
Now its 16 odd years old i'm starting to get into these old Seikos. It has never missed a beat and keeps perfect time. The only thing variable about it is the lumo. Some nights it can light up a room, other nights barely nothing. Guess that's how, and by what, the lumo is 'charged' with.
I only know it as a V657-0A70; only because that's whats stamped on the back. However, I think that's the mechanism and not necessarily the model (?). The more I research it, the more the term 'Panda' gets thrown about - but I guess that's reserved for the hallowed 70's Panda. Will the gurus on here allow me to call it a '90's Panda'? Don't tell me its the mk5 Escort 'RS2000' of the Seiko world, it will break my heart!
The original blue box hasn't aged well at all. Its covered in a leatherette that has gone soft to the touch and marks so easy.
I have bought a new box only just recently, which is also black & white and seeing it in its new home still makes me happy.
Photographing it tonight has made me realise just how worn it is, but we call that 'patina' right?
Perhaps in another 16 years I'll treat it to a new fascia glass.
I have just read 60 odd pages and now consider myself educated.... some lovely watches on here. Shame photobucket has broken a few...

Ooooof. That's a stunner. I'm a sucker for a white faced chronograph.I bought it new in 2001 from H. Samuel, Ipswich, after seeing it in the window for over a year. Thanks. Don't like the gold strap but that has a nice face. Unlike me.I prefer yours, but is this one for sale? Is there a link?
Still looking for a 55 Fathoms. Can't decide between one with numbers or just markers; I *think* markers. And there's still the blue vs brown/gold decision to make!
I keep looking but most of the already-done ones are abroad. I must go back and look at the option of buying the parts and getting someone to fit them.

Can't believe I've only just found this thread. I discovered the world of Seiko watch modding a couple of months ago and thought I'd have a crack myself. I think the hardest part is actually making a choice out of all the options available!
I started with an SNZG13 from Amazon. You are stuck with the outer ring of minute markers, but I prefer a bigger watch over the smaller SNK809 type variants.
Then added:
- "BIG # ZERO MIN 3:00" from Dagaz
- Blue AR coated crystal from Crystaltimes
- "Mil Spec" style hands from Dlwatches. (mixed in yellow and white).
- Geckota mesh strap
Before
No going back now!
My professional work bench (critics might observe that it's just a piece of cardboard with some cheap tools from ebay)
Taking decent photos of a watch is hard!
Finished product. Really hard to show in a photo how the crystal looks. It's a much more dramatic change in reality.
I tried to avoid the 'Sinn clones' that are often done with this model because I wanted something unique. I'm pretty happy with the result for a first try. Going to have a crack at an SKX007 next!
