Let's see your Seikos!
Discussion
I found this old seiko recently. I bought it new about 25 years ago and the battery has probably been dead for the last 15. I am going to put a new battery in it and see if it still works and if so get a new strap for it.
When I opened up the back the rubber o-ring seal was broken. How easy will it be find a replacement one of these?

Should be straight forward, Timpson or any high-street watch repairer have a selection of O-rings in stock. Or you can buy packs of hundreds of assorted sizes for a few pounds from Amazon/ebay, or go to Cousins for more exact parts. https://www.cousinsuk.com/category/watch-gasketsWhen I opened up the back the rubber o-ring seal was broken. Can't believe I've only just found this thread. I discovered the world of Seiko watch modding a couple of months ago and thought I'd have a crack myself. I think the hardest part is actually making a choice out of all the options available!
I started with an SNZG13 from Amazon. You are stuck with the outer ring of minute markers, but I prefer a bigger watch over the smaller SNK809 type variants.
Then added:
- "BIG # ZERO MIN 3:00" from Dagaz
- Blue AR coated crystal from Crystaltimes
- "Mil Spec" style hands from Dlwatches. (mixed in yellow and white).
- Geckota mesh strap
Before
No going back now!
My professional work bench (critics might observe that it's just a piece of cardboard with some cheap tools from ebay)
Taking decent photos of a watch is hard!
Finished product. Really hard to show in a photo how the crystal looks. It's a much more dramatic change in reality.
I tried to avoid the 'Sinn clones' that are often done with this model because I wanted something unique. I'm pretty happy with the result for a first try. Going to have a crack at an SKX007 next!

Great work!
