Thanks guys. I have been advised to get a turtle instead as the movement is better? At this price point does it really matter?

Any recommendations for where to get a k from?
I have both...both are really nice with little between them.

If you need hand winding and hacking get the Turtle other than that get whichever you like the look of.
Also both will likely have misaligned chapter rings like 95% of seikos including many on this thread.

Didn’t know what that meant, did a quick google and godammnit now I’ve noticed a slight wonk on my SKX009. Already knew it loses around half a minute per day, and the movement is ever so slightly off (centering the hands on top of each other at 12 o’clock sees them sitting at 12:00:30) but came to accept them.
My chapter ring is nowhere near as bad as most I’ve just read about but it takes even more shine off my beloved watch.

So here's mine.(7A28-7020)
18th (1987) birthday present off my old man. Still got the paperwork, not sure about the box.
BUT I lost the bottom left hand crown wheel and was told they are no longer available, any ideas
Might be worth trying Seiko UK. They serviced mine last year.

Newly arrived Jade Monster , have to say rarely have I been this disappointed in a watch , I've seen Seiko prices creeping up for a while and I know its JDM exclusivity pushed the price up but this is sold as a $500-$600 watch , and its really a $250 watch , pressed clasp , cheap and nasty bracelet and generally difficult to see where the money goes

But that dial and lume is outstanding

I may try and find a better bracelet or may just take the hit and move it on frown

Sorry! When I noticed it on one of my SKX I didn’t wear it for about a week, but got over it and now enjoy it for what it is and accept that these are £200 watches and not £2000+

I’m wearing it quite happily now thumbup Just adds a bit more weight to the argument for a well made, more premium watch biggrin

IMO, the bracelet on the Monster isn't "cheap and nasty”

I would agree. It needs one with greater magnification. smile

I will absolutely bear this in mind, you're first on the dibs list. I do warn you though, I don't intend on getting rid of it any time soon! biggrin

Something arrived into my possession yesterday and haven't taken it off since. I posted it in the incoming thread.

I also managed to get probably the last Peacock in the UK, it's being delivered tomorrow. This time, I'm actually done. I mean it. Maybe.

Well its hardly quality is it ? Its pressed steel , no place on a $600 watch imo and fitted to much cheaper models in the range , I have the exact same clasp but a much better bracelet on a Seiko Kinetic diver that cost around half what the monster does

Compare the one on my Hamilton Khaki, a slightly cheaper watch with a nicely machined clasp and much nicer bracelet

And here it is. Still working on my photo taking, and by the looks of it I need to be a lot more thorough when cleaning it beforehand!

Absolutely stunning. I think I’d spend as much time gazing at the back as the front if I had one.

The anthesis of something flash like a Rolex and only true aficionados will realise what it is and how special it is.

Many thanks for the kind words everyone. I am very very proud of it, and still can't quite believe I have it. It gets better and better the more you look at it.

This was one of the main reasons that Seiko and Credor have always appealed to me I guess. I enjoy watch conversations, but not ones that are making a point about wearing a very expensive watch. Anyone that recognises this is most likely not going to be judgemental about the cost of it.
